It’s a well known fact that babies love looking at faces, particularly those of other babies. Georgie loves to go through the various baby catalogues and magazines with me that come in the post, staring at the different babies on each page. However, after we’ve been through each one a few times they start looking a little bedraggled and chewed upon! So, I decided to make her a slobberproof baby faces toy to play with, after seeing a similar toy that my sister made in her baby group for her baby.
This is a quite fun cheap & cheerful idea, if you have access to a laminator & laminating pouches – they are selling them quite cheap in Asda if you want one of your own, but we opted to borrow my mother in law’s for a few days instead! It’s also really easy; all you need to be able to do is cut stuff up!
Step One: cut out some baby faces and shapes from coloured paper/card – I tried to get a mixture of gender and skin colour to make it nice & varied
Step Two: arrange the faces & shapes in your laminating pouch
Step Three: laminate!
Step Four: allow it to cool
Step Five: give it to your baby to be stared at & chewed!
Step Six: Make yourself a coffee, have a slice of cake, and sit back & relax while your little one entertains herself with her fascinating new plaything! You deserve it 🙂
Georgie loves hers, and I plan to make her a few more bits using the laminator before I hand it back to Ruth – I’m going to print some photos of various family members and make her a little book of different people she knows, with everyone’s names underneath their pictures. I’ve bought some cheapo star confetti stuff to mix in with the photos to make it a bit more special and sparkly!
