Something a little bit puzzling happened this morning…
As I took Georgie down from her seat at breakfast time I stripped her of her PJs, as normal after her morning meal, and found a bare bottom underneath!
Now, I was there when James got her ready for bed last night, and I know he put a nappy on her. I was as certain about that as the fact that he hadn’t had time to change her nappy before breakfast. She routinely has her first change of the day after breakfast, as she’s not the most co-operative toddler in the world with an empty stomach.
So then, where had her nappy gone? I nipped upstairs and checked her room, and double checked with James via text message that he hadn’t changed her this morning. I replied to his “nope” with a brief explanation of what had happened.

To say I was perplexed was an understatement. It didn’t help that my brain still felt foggy from the fluey bug I was struck down with earlier this week. I just could not work out why Georgie had nothing on under her PJs, and there was no used nappy in sight anywhere.
Thankfully, the mystery was solved when James rang me from work. His first words? “Ahhh, that explains what happened this morning!”
It turns out that our little madam delivered a wet nappy to her Daddy. He assumed that it must have been one that he missed or dropped by accident when he was doing the bins the night before, and threw it away. As Georgie was still fully dressed he had no idea that the little rascal must have pulled down her PJs, pulled off the nappy, and then popped her PJ trousers back on before giving her present to her Daddy.
So, the Mystery of the Missing Nappy was solved, and my sanity saved. I’m just hoping she doesn’t make a habit out of random nappy removals… or that we can get the little madam potty trained soon!
I found ours without nappy in her cot and lot’s of wee out her cot one afternoon… back to putting body suits on for naps and night time…
