Hurrah! Georgie’s feet finally fit into “normal” sized infant shoes. For the first time ever, she is fitting into shoes from the walking range at Clarks. No more cutting up adult insoles to make her shoes stop falling off her feet (I ended up doing this with her boots), or doubling up on Hush Puppies insoles to make the shoes narrower than they are supposed to be, yay!
Her current (only pair of) shoes are 4.5 Hush Puppies with both E and G insoles in as her feet were too narrow to fit into E width shoes last time we went shoe shopping – the few Clarks shoes available in E width just fell straight off! As her feet grow I can swap out the insoles in her Hush Puppies and put the F we have stashed away in, but her feet have almost got too long for them now, hence the need to go and buy some new shoes.
We were delighted to discover this morning that she is now measuring as a 5F and ended up bringing home two pairs of 5.5F casual shoes for every day use… one of the pairs even lights up which Georgie is delighted with (oh my god I bought my child flashing shoes).
We got the Pippy Bay shoes in red leather and the Giggle Run shoes in white. I don’t want to talk about the money we spent on two pairs of shoes. I don’t spend that much money on my own shoes. My husband says this is because I’m not a proper girl. Um. Thanks?
When we got home I hopped onto eBay and managed to find a pair of Ella Shine black patent shoes in 5.5F for £5 including postage, so I’m chuffed with my bargain hunting! They will be perfect for the weddings we are going to in a few months… as long as both the brides can forgive a toddler with light up shoes running about! Yup, they flash too.

Georgie’s shoe collection is now officially better than mine. When this baby arrives and my feet return to their normal size I think I am going to treat myself to a few new pairs! Of course, this will probably just be two new pairs of Converse, but still, that’s exciting too. Right?
