Manufacturer’s Description: If you know someone who is struggling, it can be difficult to show your support. Often a chat over coffee or an extra-tight hug is enough, but there might be times you want to do a little bit more. Our new BuddyBox subscription care package makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who could do with a boost. Buying a subscription for yourself is also a great way to enjoy a little self-care.

Rating: (5/5 stars)

Review: The BuddyBox is a subscription box with a difference; instead of being full of nerdy goods, baby goods, or anything like that, it is a box you send to someone who in need of a hug-in-a-box. If you have a friend who needs a bit of a boost, someone struggling with their mental health that could do with a lift, or you just want a way to send a message to say “I care” to someone, then the BuddyBox is for you.

As someone who has in the past, and still does today, struggles with their mental health, I really appreciate this box & the idea behind it, as well as all of the work the fantastic people over at Blurt do to increase the awareness & understanding of depression. They have some great resources & articles on their site, so if like me you sometimes need to take steps to make sure you stay with your head above water, then it is well worth checking out.

Buddy Box

I got a lovely selection of goodies in my BuddyBox, with things to make me feel better, and things to make me smile. They included some calming Clipper chai tea, Tisserand aromatic oil and a Paddywax candle that smells amazing, as well as a fun Games Room game to play with friends and some magnetic moustaches which made me laugh. Some lovely postcards including one that is designed to have a message written on it for a stranger & left in a public place like a library made me smile too.

Buddy Box - Contents

Overall I was impressed with the contents of the box – I estimate the contents to be worth over £22 so more than the price of the box, which also includes shipping, so it seems like good value too. It is a lovely mix of bits & pieces, and the box is lovely too, I will be reusing it to keep little things in.

Lydia with a moustache

This is a really lovely idea for a subscription box, and the BuddyBox is really nice to open and discover the secrets hidden inside. I love the excitement of opening up mystery boxes like this, and this one is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face (or your friend’s face!) and give you the warm fuzzies. 5 stars.
