Egmont Christmas Books

Review: Georgie and Lydia are a pair of little bookworms, so when they received these three lovely Christmas children’s books to add to their ever-expanding library, they were delighted. All three of these books have been a great success with the girls, and it’s not hard to see why.

Egmont Children's christmas books

Socks for Santa is the latest in the George’s Amazing Adventures series. We have a few of these books already – you can read our reviews for Spaghetti with the Yeti and Marshmallows for Martians if you want a peek – and they are among the girls’ favourite books. This new offering is no different, with George going on another fantastical adventure – this time to the North Pole to meet Santa.

The words on the page roll off the tongue so effortlessly as you read this book aloud, with excellent rhythm and structure. It is a joy to read, and a really fun story too. The illustrations are bright, cheerful, and full of amusing little details.

Pop-Out and Play Nativity is a really lovely nativity book, with toddler-friendly cardboard pages, sweet illustrations, and a well told story. It’s a great first Nativity book, and Georgie & Lydia love the pop out stable which we have set up on the side in the living room.

The last page folds out, and different characters from the nativity story can be popped out and arranged inside the stable to recreate the nativity story.

The Little Christmas is a lovely story about animals decorating a tree in the forest, after the children forget to decorate one of the trees for Christmas. The illustrations are really cute, with adorable animals and a really lovely story to go along with it.

On the last page, there is a little blue envelope full of decorations & cut out animals and presents, and then when you undo the ribbon & open up the back cover of the book, it opens up into a cardboard christmas tree. You can then decorate it with the cardboard decoration & place the presents underneath.

We have put the tree together with the nativity on the side in the living room, and they look great on display.

The Little Christmas Tree

We have been really impressed by all three of these books, the cardboard displays look fab & the George’s Amazing Adventure story is great fun, the girls love it. 5 stars for Egmonts range of Christmas books.
