Review: Lydia and Georgie have both watched the Disney Junior Vampirina tv show, and when I showed Lydia a photo of this dress she was really excited about getting to review it.

Lydia loves to dress up in costumes and it’s nice for her to have one that isn’t a princess or a superhero.

The Vampirina tv show is based on a series of ‘Vampirina Ballerina’ books by Anne Marie Price, and tells the story of the young vampire ‘Vee’ who has moved to Pennsylvania with her family to open up a local B&B.

This costume is a really great match to the cartoon girl’s outfit, with a spider web pattern dress, fingerless blue gloves, and abat wing headband to match her funky pigtails. All you’d need to finish off the look perfectly are some pink socks and black ankle boots, which can be picked up easily pretty much anywhere.

Lydia looks really great in the costume, and she was really pleased with it. She chose to wear it out to the Sea Life Centre and got some very complimentary comments and indulgent smiles from onlookers! The sparkly blue glitter on the gloves & dress webbing, and the Vampirina cameo on the dress are nice details.

Quality-wise, it is well made and I haven’t spotted any loose threads or anything like that. Lydia seemed to find it comfortable to wear and happily kept it on for the whole day. It velcros up in the back which means Lydia can take it off easily herself, but needs a little help putting it on.

The dress says it is suitable for ages 4-6 and as Lydia has just turned 5 she is smack bang in the middle of the age range. It fits her well and she probably won’t outgrow it for a while yet, so it seems like the sizing is pretty accurate.

The only thing that makes me hesitate a little on this one is the price; I think £25 is a little bit steep for a dressing up costume. We give the Vampirina Boo-tiful dress four stars.
