Rating: (5/5 stars) Review: Lydia and Georgie both love Hatchimals, and Lydia has quite the collection of CollEGGtibles on the go – so when the opportunity to review something from the new range I jumped at the chance. The Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Secret Surprise egg contains three little Hatchimals characters, three accessories, a mini cardboard scene to put together, and stickers to decorate it with. Lydia loved taking the clear outer lid of the egg off to break the shell and discover which Hatchimals were hiding inside – after rubbing the heart to make it turn from purple to pink! Underneath the top part of the egg hiding the Hatchimals figures, the egg splits into two layers. The Top layer holds the cardboard sheets of scenery along with the sticker sheet, and the bottom layer has three sealed compartments which you open to reveal the accessories inside. Lydia was delighted with the Hatchimals she got, and with their little accessories. I have to admit, the tiny drum kit is extremely cute, and the star glasses are very cool, even if they do fall off fairly easily. To put the little cardboard scene together, Lydia popped the pieces out of the discs, then used the stickers to decorate them and put it together to make a mini playset. This fits inside the top of the egg so that you can display your Secret Surprise Hatchimals. Overall we have enjoyed this toy and Lydia loves it. At £12.99 it is decently priced for a collectible toy, considering you get three figures, as well as the accessories and the cardboard scene with stickers. Lydia loves the ‘breaking into the egg’ opening method you get with this range; it’s definitely more fun than just ripping into a plastic bag. Lydia gives this 5 stars!
