Review: A few months ago, I reviewed the Krafted Connex multi-USB adapter gadget, and they are back with a new product called the Couch. This wireless sofa charger aims to make it easier to top up your phone battery while relaxing on your couch, and it works great.

Inside the box, you’ll find a MagSafe compatible wireless charger with a two-metre USB-C cable, a silicone mat designed to hold the charger and drape over the arm of your sofa, and the instructions.

Setting up the Couch is incredibly easy. Simply remove the film from the charger and slot it inside the silicone mat. Tuck the cable into the built-in channel, which keeps it neat and tidy. This leaves you with just under two metres of cable to reach a USB-C power source of your choice.
We have sockets behind our sofa, so I plugged the Couch into one of the USB plugs already there. Usually, we have a cable or two plugged in and draped over the back of the sofa, causing various problems and inconveniences. The cables get sat on, disappear behind and underneath the sofa cushions, or they end up yanking on the plug and pulling it out of the socket. We tried placing a wireless charger on the small shelf behind the sofa where our power extension and Echo sit, but it kept falling off down the back of the sofa, occasionally taking a phone down with it. Our sofa is in the corner of our living room, so whenever something falls down behind it or into the gap between the arm and the window, it’s a hassle to retrieve.

The Couch wireless charger is perfect for us because it solves the dangling cable issue and also prevents my phone from sliding off the arm of the sofa into the gap beside the window. Since all four of us have iPhones with MagSafe, we can all use it when needed without worrying about our phones falling down the gap or behind the sofa cushions.
The charger is easy to find from the top side, thanks to the slightly raised disc. The magnets then line up the wireless charger perfectly with our MagSafe phones, shifting them into place.

James and I both have AirPods cases with small MagSafe compatible magnets on the back, so we can easily top up our AirPods charge using the Couch charger without worrying about them being knocked off.
The mat itself grips onto the arm of our sofa really well and doesn’t shift when the cushion against the arm is moved or rested. The 10cm wide dark blue mat looks very smart on our black and grey sofa, and it’s definitely better than a cable trailing over the back of the cushions! It’s available in three colours: Matcha Green, Deep Blue, and Latte.

The Qi2 charger itself outputs a maximum of 15W for iPhones and 10W for Android phones, which is plenty for a quick battery top-up. It actually matches the output of our usual MagSafe chargers upstairs.
The price seems reasonable for a high-quality phone charger, especially when compared to other decent brands of charging stands. I haven’t found anything else that makes charging your phone on your sofa as easy or comfortable as this. Unless you have space on a side table for a MagSafe charger (which we don’t), this is a great solution for topping up your phone in the living room. It’s definitely going to stay on our sofa arm as a permanent fixture – 5 stars!
