Review: Lydia stopped wearing sleeping bags when she moved into her toddler bed, switching to a small duvet & blankets. The only problem is she does not stay still while sleeping. Her bed is very low to the floor so she doesn’t wake up when she wriggles out of it; consequently we never know whether she will even be in her bed when we go in to check on them at night, let alone what position she is in or whether she has managed to stay covered up.

The reason we moved Lydia from sleeping bags to a duvet despite her being so wriggly still is that we were worried about her being able to walk around safely in them, especially up and down the stairs to Georgie’s bed, where they play together often in the mornings after waking up. This bag from slumbersac solves that problem completely, and Lydia absolutely adores her “cozy baggy” as she has called it.

The unisex teddy bear design is really cute, with super soft 100% jersey cotton outer fabric, and snuggly 100% cotton on the inside. The elasticated cuffs around the ankles are really wide & soft and stop the bag slipping down over her feet without being too tight and causing worry about circulation being restricted. Your child can slip their feet easily inside the bag while sleeping & pop them out in the morning to move about, or just leave them poking out all night, which is what Lydia prefers.

This sleeping bag is fastened on by a zipper that goes up the middle, and is covered at the top by a peppered flap. This would probably be enough to stop small toddlers from escaping too easily, although Lydia has no problems getting herself out of her bag in the mornings – which is great as we are hoping to get her toilet trained soon, and she will need to be able to get herself out of it if she is still using it.

Slumbersac have a wide range of sleeping bags, and their “with feet” range comes in four different fabrics with three tog ratings available; 1.0 tog summer weight, 2.0 – 2.5 tog standard weight, and 3.5 tog winter weight. They go up to age 4 which is great for wriggly toddlers like our Lydia! You can get the bags embroidered, and they sell sleeves too which work like a little jacket to help keep your little ones’ arms cosy & warm too.

I don’t think this Slumbersac is too expensive; it is priced about right for what you get & you only need to buy a few as they wash well. I think it is highly likely we will be buying a second soon as Lydia asks for her cozy baggy most nights! 5 stars for this lovely bag.
