Rating: (4/5 stars) Review: Lydia loves all things unicorns and adores collectible blind bags, so I knew that she would love this product. UniVerse clouds sport super cute emoji inspired designs, and have even cuter unicorns & accessories hidden inside. I’ve not come across a product quite like this before, as to open a UniVerse cloud, you need to submerge it in a bowl of warm water. The cloud then dissolves into a very gooey and gluey slime, revealing a hidden package of blind bags. The water changes colour, too – indicating which of the magical UniVerse lands that the unicorn inside hails from. Each UniVerse cloud has four blind bags hidden inside, so there are lots of fun surprises in these – it’s definitely a very fun ‘unboxing experience’ for kids to enjoy. Alongside the cloud in the main packaging are clear instructions on how to reveal the surprises hidden inside the cloud. Lydia really enjoyed ‘opening’ these – the slime was super goopy and she had a whale of a time pulling it apart with her fingers, and giving herself ‘webbed hands like a frog’. She wasn’t a huge fan of the way it smelled, however! It can get a bit messy with the water and the slime, but we popped our bowl on a wipeable tray and kept a roll of paper towels to hand, and we managed the mess just fine. The blind bags themselves are protected from the mess inside a clear plastic pouch, which we carefully cut open and emptied out away from the mess. I would definitely recommend these are opened with adult supervision though! Lydia proclaimed the slime to be ‘yucky but in a good way’. Inside the prettily patterned blind bags (the design of which Lydia exclaimed over), you find one unicorn, their pet, two accessories, a collectors guide to UniVerse, and a collector card for that unicorn. The accessories can be attached to the unicorn – depending on what it is, you can slot it onto the horn, or into the mouth, or clip it to the tail or horn. The included instruction sheet shows how to attach the different types of accessories. The back of the collector card has scratch-off panels that reveal different facts about your new unicorn – their likes, dislikes, favourite food, and ‘uni-queness’ level. Lydia had a great time using the unicorn’s horns and hooves to scratch off these panels and was excited every time she uncovered a new piece of information. Inside our four clouds, we got Lotsa Mozza Ella, Bun Appetit Becca, Diggity Dee, and Super Stariana. Lydia was delighted with her little herd of unicorns and their mix n match accessories, as well as the cute themed pets. Three of our four were from Nummy Bay and their food-themed pun-tastic names made us laugh. Overall Lydia was really happy with the UniVerse collectibles, and they have been added to her ‘collectibles box’ which the girls play with often, acting out all sorts of stories with their little figures. There are over 40 unicorns to collect, and you get a fairly decent amount of value for your money, with the unique opening experience and all of the different bits inside. We give the UniVerse collectibles four stars.
