Manufacturer’s Description: Sarah is a busy mother of 3 who used to ache for pop stardom, but now aches for more than 8 hours uninterrupted sleep. Though she wrote and recorded many songs in her early twenties, stardom didn’t follow but what did happen were 3 gorgeous children. Inspired to create something that could be enjoyed by parents as well as their children, she has produced and recorded this album over many late nights at home in rural Lancashire. The result is a chilled out album that aims to calm even the giddiest little kippers after a busy day.

Rating: (4/5 stars)

Review: When Sarah sent me her CD to review, I was eager to get it into my laptop to get listening to the tracks, and I wasn’t disappointed.

These rewrites of the classic lullabies are lovely to listen to, with soothing melodies that help you chill out. I’ve put them on a few times before Georgie’s afternoon nap time and they certainly provide more relaxing background music than almost any other of Georgie’s playlists (Disney songs feature heavily among her favourite tunes!).

It’s nice to have a “wind down” period before nap time with some music to help Georgie relax, rather than overstimulating her with cbeebies on the tv or something along those lines, and this album is great for the job! Sarah’s voice is truly beautiful and I find it incredibly relaxing and enjoyable to listen to myself, which is a massive bonus for a kids CD, which usually set your teeth on edge, especially the third or fourth time you hear it!

I can see this album being absolutely perfect for long car journeys – Georgie does tend to sleep a lot in the car but sometimes she needs a helping hand to calm down and fall asleep, and I will definitely be putting this in the car for any long journeys we do next year.

The modern rearrangements of the lullabies make this album unique and it is a welcome change to the typical lullaby CDs you can buy. It would make a great gift for new parents, especially if you’re looking for something a bit unusual to welcome their new addition.

Some parents may label it as being slightly off-puttingly weird, my husband being one of them, but I think it deserves a very respectable 4 stars… and it will be accompanying us on  our next long journey despite his grumpy remark!

    1. Haha he says he feels mean now! I think he wasn’t able to disregard the traditional arrangements of the songs while listening to it and it confused him!
