For today’s Wednesday Wishlist post, I’ve been happily window shopping on the Baby Patisserie website, and I have to admit I’ve fallen half in love with a lot of the products they have for sale! Here are my particular favourites…
One thing that I’ve always been a little bit sad about is that we don’t have a baby record book for Georgie. She is well documented, between my blog, the millions of photos I take, and twitter, but I don’t have a physical record book of the facts & figures of her first years of life. Part of the reason is that we have never seen one that has appealed a lot to us (they can be so tacky or over the top!), but that has certainly changed now!
My Best Book About Me is Terese Öman’s solution to the rubbish baby books that are flooding the market – she couldn’t find one she liked so she made her own! The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, and the whole thing is written from the baby’s perspective which is a great twist on the typical format. The book covers from pregnancy to five years old (so I could still blackmail James into letting buy one, maybe?!), making it a fantastic gift for a new parent. I just think it is so fun!
The Totseat is a particularly ingenious invention – it is a portable, compact, foldable, washable high chair. It fits on every type of chair and saves the need to worry about taking you high chair to people’s houses, or panicking about whether that restaurant you want to go to has enough high chairs or not. It’s easy to see why this thing has won awards!
There is a fab range of fabrics and it even includes a carry bag, and a cumberbund to wrap around the back of chairs that might not normally be safe enough for small children to sit on (nobody wants to see their toddler disappear through the back of their chair!). It lasts from about 8 months to 30, and for less than £20 it seems like a worthwhile piece of kit to keep in the changing bag.
We already use Sock Ons by the same company to keep Georgie’s socks on, and now they have released Mocc Ons which look quite intriguing. We have trouble with Georgie’s feet being quite slim, so most non fitted soft shoes are very easy for her to pull off. Anything that is just marked up 6-12 months (etc) always just ends up being far too wide for her diddy feet. These look fab because they go further up the leg which hopefully means that they stay on better! I would love some of these for around the house while she is cruising and seems close to taking her first steps – I think they would give her a bit more grip than tights or socks.
