Meet Cork!

Home Deliciously Random Meet Cork!

The day before Christmas, Mum & Dad opened a bottle of Buck’s Fizz for some guests, and the cork was put to one side. A day or two later, Georgie discovered it and it went from being just a cork, to being “Cork!!”

Internet, meet Cork.

Since Melody got a little rocking crib of her own for Christmas, Georgie has been putting her to bed at night time, and piling all her favourite bed time toys into the little bed too. Meanwhile, our little nutter curls up in bed with Cork.

At the weekend, Dad opened a bottle of Cava and Georgie ended up with the cork. After an initial outright rejection, followed by her calling it “Lydie’s Cork,” my Dad had the bright idea to tell her that it was “Cork’s Friend” and so now she has two of the things. Yea, thanks for that Dad.

We have to find both corks every night so that Georgie can go to sleep. This task is made more difficult for us by the fact that Georgie keeps trying to take them with her around the house, and then abandoning them.

Corks are quite small.

They get lost easily.

This is not good.

On Monday night, Georgie woke up after a bad dream and got really upset because she couldn’t find Cork. I had to scrabble about on the floor to find it, all the while trying not to wake Lydia up (I failed on that count).

Georgie, Cork, and Cork’s Friend all ended up in bed with me. At one point in the night, I rolled over and had to extract a very hard lump from underneath me, and hand it back to a very dopey toddler.

Last night, Mum had to read them after Georgie exclaimed “they’ve got numbers and letters on!”

Two year olds. Sometimes they are just, inexplicably, a bit nuts.

  1. Oh Bless 🙂 If ever there was a reason to stop drinking 😉
Actually we have a cork too, it has been hand painted with a Charmander (Pokemon) and it’s my Star’s pride and joy. Thankfully it stays put on the top shelf so the other littlies can’t reach it. Sadly, it cost me £5 at a craft fair! £5 for a CORK!!
