My 30th Birthday

On Saturday I turned thirty, and I celebrated the event quietly with my family, just as I wanted to. We are down in Cornwall staying with my parents at the moment for our summer holiday, and have been having a really nice time.

We drove down to Cornwall on Friday, and Saturday was a lovely relaxed day. We had fun chatting, chilling out, and the girls loved spending the day with their beloved Grandma and Grandad. I opened my presents with two little blonde helpers and have been feeling very spoilt. I got a few vouchers and a little bit of birthday that I am looking forward to treating myself with, and my sister sent me a box of 30 parcels to unwrap – some sweet, and some very silly.

The gamer in me is very pleased with two new PS4 games from family to play; I am looking forward to getting stuck into Lego Movie and Lego Hobbit. James bought me Firefly on Blu-ray and also the first Pitch Perfect film, I’m a happy nerdy girl!

My big present wasn’t really a surprise as James and I have been talking about my wanting one for months (but he refused to admit buying one all the same) – an Apple Watch! It is a 38mm aluminium model with a blue sport band and I absolutely love it already. I’m getting my phone out a lot less to keep an eye on what’s going on, being able to read urgent emails and messages quickly, and having lots of fun with it. I’m a very happy nerdy girl!

I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all my wonderful Web Design clients, my self-employed earnings pay for any of our extra treats – this one included! Without you guys hiring me we wouldn’t have been able to afford this at all, so thank you for my extra special birthday present! 😉

We finished off the day with a roast chicken feast cooked by my Dad, a glass of Prosecco and some chocolate cake. James and I then snuck off after bedtime to North Cornwall’s only cinema to watch Ant-Man – which I really enjoyed. There are some great laugh out loud moments and it is another great instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
