A Summer Fête

Home Chit Chat A Summer Fête

On Saturday morning we had ourselves a sneak peek of the primary school Georgie might be attending next year, when we attended their little Summer Fête. Georgie thought it was fantastic and had a whale of a time. I won a dodgy prize on the tombola and the girls now have their first stuffed toy in the shape of a camel. A success all round!

For some reason Georgie decided that her face paint of choice was Spiderman, despite having no idea who that is. We had a bit of an inexperienced face painter who handed the job over to her mum halfway through, so the design wasn’t quite as it should have been, but Georgie loved it anyway.

Georgie made a lovely sand art dolphin that she is extremely pleased with; I was impressed at how well she did it all herself, all I did was hold the dolphin shape steady for her while she tipped in the sand, and tap it down between pours.  There was very little spillage, too!

The school looked lovely; surprisingly small for a city school and She was intrigued by the little craft projects that decorated the school hallways – a good sign! I spoke to one parent who has three children there and she was raving about how great it is. We can walk there within a few minutes and without setting foot off the path, not even to cross the road. It was certainly a good first impression.

Here’s a short video of what Georgie got up to at the fête…
