A few weeks ago, I emailed some of the companies I have worked with over the last three years. Brands and PRs that I have reviewed for, and companies I have been proud to be an ambassador for. I was emailing to ask for support in the form of prize donations, for my youngest daughter’s pre-school.
I have been absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the generosity and kindness of these companies. I owe them a lot of thanks for their fantastic donations for this year’s raffle, it is going to be great and hopefully we will raise a lot of money for the pre-school.
Lydia’s pre-school playgroup is run as part of a local community charity, and they have a tiny budget with very little funding. Lydia attends three mornings a week right now, and Georgie attended five mornings a week last year – and both girls adore it. Georgie really flourished there and came out of her shell so much, and Lydia is doing absolutely brilliantly too. The staff are amazing and it has a great atmosphere.

Evolution PR & Flair – they sent a huge box full of toys, I was absolutely blown away when it arrived! The fab Sofia the First micro playsets we’ve previous reviewed for them, plus some sets from the Atomicron range, and a Tree Fu Tom Be A Hero Set.
Sea Life Birmingham – they’ve given us a family ticket which is a great prize. The preschool is less than half an hour from the Sea Life centre, and is one of our favourite places to visit in Birmingham (we were there just a few days ago for hours!)
Micro Scooters – they very kindly a bright pink mini micro scooter which is amazing of them, the girls both have mini micro scooters, and they love them. We’ve actually reviewed one of these on Mama Geek before.
Professor Scrubbingtons – the Professor was kind enough to send over a suitcase gift box packed full with his full range of fabulous kids toiletries. We reviewed this range and are still using the hand wash upstairs & downstairs at home, as both girls find them so easy to use on their own.
True Grace – from True Grace we have a Wild Lime “Classic Candle” and it smells utterly divine. As soon as I opened the box I could smell it and I would be quite happy to win this prize back!
Bigjigs Toys – after two years testing their products as Play Patrol members, I was delighted to be able to get a Bigjigs Rail set for the raffle. This figure eight set has won awards, and it’s not hard to see why.
Greener Cleaner – we recently reviewed some of their cleaning products and loved them, so I was really happy to be able to add a bag full of products from their range as a raffle prize.
Smiggle – as a self-confessed stationery addict, I am a fan of the bright & colourful Smiggle brand. They very kindly sent a santa sack with lots of fantastic goodies inside.
Wonderful World of Trains & Planes – we visited this Birmingham City Centre attraction recently and all of us had a brilliant day out, and I am really grateful that they have donated a family ticket to the raffle. I’m sure any of Lydia’s schoolmates would love to win!
Parragon Books – we’ve reviewed products from Parragon’s lovely baby & toddler “Little Learners” board books range before, and they are really lovely. They were nice enough to send a set of books from the range which makes a lovely prize for the raffle.
Mattel & Fisher-Price – Mattel sent over some fabulous raffle prizes so a huge thank you to them; a Monster High doll, Laugh & Learn tote, and a fun Hot Wheels playset.
Emma McCarthy – Independent Usborne Organiser – Emma has very kindly donated a “Dress the Teddy Bears for Christmas” sticker book for our Christmas tombola. Georgie did a teddy bear dress up sticker book in the summer holiday and really loved it, so I know this is a lovely prize – in fact, this is the sticker book I have ordered myself for the girls’ Christmas Eve box!
I am absolutely amazed and a bit humbled by the kindness and generosity displayed by the brands & PRs I contacted, over £550 worth of fantastic prizes! Thank you all so much!
I will be hitting up family & local friends to buy strips of tickets next 😉
