Disclosure: We were sent a box of craft products for the purpose of this post.
Today is the Autumn Equinox, and as such marks the first “official” day of Autumn 2015. The leaves are beginning to fall, the days are getting cooler, and we’ve been getting rained upon on a regular basis all month. Baker Ross sent us a couple of Autumn crafts to try out, and so Georgie, Lydia and I have been having lots of fun.
Georgie and Lydia both made Autumn tree pictures with some leaf foam stickers (£2.99 for a pack of 144). Both girls really enjoyed the stickers and found it easy for themselves to peel off the backing independently.
Georgie stuck a piece of paper for a tree trunk, and a green shape for the tree branches, onto a piece of blue card. We collected conkers from our neighbourhood conker tree, and stuck them on to the picture along with lots of leaves. Georgie says it is a windy day so a lot of her leaves are floating to the ground, and one of the conkers is falling off too.
For Lydia, I used a wax crayon to quickly sketch a tree, and she stuck leaves onto the branches.
Georgie and I painted some hedgehog ceramic tea light holders (£4.40 for a box of four), using a set of pebeo porcelain paint pots (currently £7.99 for a set of 6). Georgie’s was very colourful and she was really pleased with herself for painting the inside as well as the outside! She had a lot of fun though, which is the main thing.
These craft projects were a lot of fun and we all had a good time doing them together. The girls got to practise their fine motor skills, hand-eye co-ordination, and be creative. Baker Ross have a huge range of Autumn crafts available, and I think their prices are pretty good! Happy crafting 🙂
