I love baby wearing, and have used a few wrap slings before, so when I saw the Joy & Joe baby wrap I was delighted to see a new reasonably cost sling enter the market.
A “simple piece of cloth” style wrap, the Joy & Joe stretchy wrap is made from 100% cotton and is suitable from birth to 16kg. Lydia is currently just over 7kg, and so there is plenty of use in it left – Georgie still fits within the weight limit!
Shortly after Lydia was born the four of us were shopping at Kiddicare, when Georgie spotted a shelf full of Ewans. From the Sweet Dreamers range, made by Easidream, Ewan the Dream Sheep is a cuddly toy designed to help babies drift off to sleep. He emits a soft red glow and, depending on which leg you squeeze, plays one of four calming soundtracks.
When we received theBabaSling to review, I was a little bit intimidated and nervous about it. All of our previous baby wearing experience comes from using a “crotch dangler” that we didn’t like too much, or traditional style wrap slings. This one shoulder style sling was completely new to us.
We were sent the Jump About to review before Lydia was born and have been waiting impatiently for her to be old enough to use it ever since she was born. Finally, in the last few weeks she has finally both been able to control her head well, and reach the ground with her feet!
We have really been enjoying this bubble bath; it seems to be gentle on Georgie’s sensitive skin, not drying it out, instead leaving it nice & soft.
This bubble bath gets the Georgie stamp of approval as it generates a good amount of bubbles, something which is essential in every toddler’s bath… The more bubbles the better!
Now that Lydia is old enough to have some expressed breast milk in bottles, we are keen to try and get her used to having the occasional bottle so that I can leave her with James for a few hours if need be. I have been sent a Lansinoh manual breast pump to test out, and so one afternoon last week I put the girls down for their naps and took advantage of the moment of peace to give it a go.
We were sent a pair of “baby pink” colour Little Grippers baby socks in newborn size for Lydia to try out, and have been fairly impressed by them.
Lydia wore her Nutmeg romper dress to The Baby Show at the weekend, so she needed socks or booties on too keep her toes warm. We took the opportunity to try out the Little Grippers socks, though I must admit that I packed her booties just in case the socks started falling off! Thankfully, my backup plan wasn’t required, as the socks stayed put all day.
We have been testing this nursing pillow out for two months now, since coming home from hospital with our brand new baby Lydia!
The Wynnie pillow is very comfortable to use, being nicely “squidgey” yet still supportive of Lydia.
Georgie suffers from dry sensitive skin (like her mummy!) so practically since birth we have been looking for a moisturiser that will be kind to her skin and keep it hydrated.
The Halos N Horns moisturising lotion certainly seems to fit the bill! It feels nice & light going on and applies easily. Georgie’s skin drinks this stuff up and you can feel her dry patches softening up under your hands as you rub it in.
I am not keen on traditional Moses baskets and we decided to go straight to using a crib for Lydia, as we did with Georgie. This, however, meant that we wouldn’t be able to benefit from the portability of a Moses basket and would need something for her to sleep on downstairs. This is where the Bambeano comes in. A great alternative to a bouncy chair or Moses basket, the Bambeano is a shaped bean bag with a secure three-point harness, suitable from birth to around 6 months old.
