Over the past week we have finally had some good weather, and we have all been out in the garden much more. The mud has dried up and signs of spring are every where. Mum and Dad have started their spring gardening, and Georgie and I were lending a hand.
Last weekend Dad mowed the lawn with the newly named “Freddie the Flymo” and we cleared out Dad’s newly built shed so that he could level the floor out with his hammer drill in chisel mode. Georgie helped Mum to sweep up the lumps of rubble with her tiny dustpan and brush!
During the week, we got out again to sow some seeds that are destined for the allotment patch Mum & Dad have in the village, and their vegetable patch in the garden. Georgie loved the entire process and was very happy helping dad to fill pots, flatten the compost, make holes, plant seeds and cover them up. She was a very enthusiastic plant waterer too!
Dad gave George her own pots and seeds, so she now has three little pots. One holds a butternut squash seed, another a tomato plant, and the third will hopefully grow into iceberg lettuce. Georgie is really proud of her pots of planted seeds and hopefully they will grow and Mum & Dad will be able to bring up some small plants when they visit in a few months.
I bought some miniature tools and a little tin watering can to live at Mum & Dads house for visiting small children to use, and they were such a success that I can see we will have to invest in some more Georgie sized tools when we start sorting out our new garden!
What a wonderful little helper she was for Grandad and having such fun too, I hope her plants do well and she reaps the benefits of her efforts. I love the photo of Georgie having a ride in the wheelbarrow. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
