  1. Alot of local libraries and centers are doing free craft sessions or ask for a small donation of £1 per child. My kids have joined in on 5 so far and get to keep what they make. Great fun for them and had some much needed family time. We are heading to a art gallery on thursday which is free and hopefully the kids enjoy ( its only a 20 min walk round and is supposed to contain science type things) and its in the middle of a HUGE park so the kids can let off some steam afterwards, we will just pack some finger food and its virtually a free day out- if you dont count the bus fare 😀 x

  2. Baking easter goodies. Also buy them some latest comics/magazines which should have easter activities in them i.e. colouring and crafts. Maybe some will be competitions to enter

  3. wrap up warm, pack up a picnic and go for a long walk or bkie ride stopping for a picnic along the way.

  4. my little man loves being outside, so you could always make an outdoor course with a slide, running, egg and spoon etc like a mini assult course. we have done this round our friends last year and it went down so well the kids loved it. x

  5. Easter egg hunts in garden with picnic to follow weather permitting. Or in lounge and picnic on floor if weather bad

  6. If the weather is bad, how about teaching the kids how to cook / bake? Not only is it a fabulous way to spend quality time together, it’s also a great way to teach them something really useful that they will remember the rest of their lives. I never got this chance as my mum passed away when I was very young, but it would have been a cherished memory.

  7. Contact any local holiday centres. We have Pontins and Potters close to us. Both offer a fabulous deal of swimming for all and use of some their leisure facilities for a family of 5 for less than £20 for all!

  8. taking the kids to the beach if the weather’s nice, or staying home and playing games and watching movies together if it’s a bit chilly out

  9. Lots of long walks where I live in the Peak District with a nice picnic and our dog, Alfie!

  10. 1.go swimming, all kids love it!
    2. go to the local park and have a picnic!
3.go to a local craft store and do some making with the kids!

  11. We’re by the sea, so wrapping up warm and hitting the beach with a ball to kick around is always a plan for dry weather. We bought some fab fillable plastic eggs and buckets (from Sainsburys funny enough), filled them with small chocolate treats and did our own Easter egg hunt in a friend’s garden. If you don’t fancy heading out plenty of shops sell cheap craft items, and Pinterest is a great place to look for age appropriate ideas.

  12. As it is so cold, we’ve been spending time indoors decorating eggs, making Easter cards and cooking Easter bunny biscuits

  13. nice long walks on the beach or even just to the local park spotting creatures adn new spring animals 🙂

  14. Go for a walk along the nature trail – make a list of things you can tick off as you find them..a bird..a big stone…something red.. etc 🙂

  15. Enjoy local parks. We always take a cheap loaf of bread and feed the ducks and some monkey nuts for the squirrels in our local park. They’re so tame they take them right out of your hand. All the kids at the park love it and it makes some great photo oppotunities. Another good idea is a fashion show or talent show. Let the kids put on perfomances or dress up. Always a winner and cheap as chips to do. 😀

  16. Melting your Easter Eggs down and then make one massive big cake for the children to decorate.
