Lydia at 2 months

Home Chit Chat Lydia at 2 months

I find it hard to believe that my newest little girl is two months old already. Lydia is an absolute sweetheart, though of course I would say that!

She is in 0-3 months clothing at the moment, but it won’t be long before we’re moving her up into 3-6, at the rate she is growing! Probably just a week or two, there are already a few 0-3 sleep suits that are getting put away with the discarded newborn clothes.

There is quite a bit of this…

Sleeping

Not too much of this…

Crying

An awful lot of this…

Breastfeeding

And some very cute moments like this…

Cuddles with big sister

I am still loving being a Mum to my two girls; the interaction between them is adorable and the big smiles Lydia has started to give to her big sister absolutely melts my heart.

Georgie is very deserving of her “Number 1 best big sister” t-shirt; she brings “Lu-e-lu” her toys and blankets, helps with nappy changes and feeds, and comes to kiss her and cuddle her a lot. If Lydia is crying she makes sure that we know about it, and is very concerned until we sort her out. When I am feeding Lydia Georgie will often come and snuggle up to the side with a free hand and we read books together, or she will play by herself and come to kiss Lydia on the back of her head as she passes by. Georgie knows that Lydia is drinking her “miolk” when I’m feeding her – and sometimes feels the need to inform people of this, complete with hand gestures!

Lydia is a lovely little girl; she loves to be held and talked to, likes to be rocked or jiggled rather than held still, is prone to hiccups (and doesn’t like them!), has a smile that lights up her entire face, strong little legs that she supports all her weight with when you stand her up, and is really great with her head control already. Her hair is cute and fuzzy, and her eyes are exactly the same as Georgie’s were at this age.

This past week I have felt like Lydia has been constantly feeding throughout the day; she has been sleeping between 6 and 8 solid hours a night, but feeding loads during the day. We haven’t had her weighed for weeks due to being away or ill so much, but she has definitely been putting on weight this week, so I think she is having a growth spurt. Appointments have come through for this Tuesday for her GP health check and first lot of jabs, and we are seeing the health visitor on Monday, so we’ll be able to find out how much she’s gained then.

I am a very happy Mummy, James is a fantastic father to his little ladies, Georgie loves her new role as big sister, and Lydia seems to be a happy, healthy baby. 2 months on from her dramatic start and all is going well 🙂
