Review: Hubelino is a Duplo compatible marble run building block toy, which allows you to combine the different bricks to create a huge variety of marble runs.

We were sent this 55 piece set to try out. Inside the box you get two bags; one of 51 brightly coloured marble run pieces of various types, and one with four plastic marbles.

However, you do need additional bricks and a baseplate in order to create your marble run – this box just includes the actual marble run pieces that go onto your own bricks. The box is a little misleading as it has a big picture of a completed marble run on one side, but not all the pieces pictured are in the box. It does say in pretty small writing that additional bricks are required, though.

We don’t have many Duplo sized blocks any more but you can also use Lego sized blocks to build onto – although the ‘bite’ onto the bricks and baseplate aren’t as good and some of the pieces had to be clicked back into place a few times.

We had fun making and playing with a pretty big marble run – the girls loved sending the balls down the winding & twisting course to the end.

As you can see you can build a decent sized marble run with this set, but it did take a lot of Lego bricks! I would only really recommend these sets to people with Duplo sized bricks. The girls had fun making some smaller runs on their own too.

There is a good variety of pieces included, with slopes of two different sizes, big and small corners, u-bend pieces, tunnel bricks, and straights of various lengths.

We give the Hubelino marble run set 4 stars.
