Product: Sew Cool Jojo Siwa Bow Maker Playset
Age Range: 6 years+
Manufacturer’s Description: Scrunch, clasp and decorate your own hair bows just like JoJo Siwa’s with the Cool Maker JoJo Bow Maker! Make double bows inspired by JoJo’s signature style and mix and match to accessorise your outfit! The Bow Maker lets you easily design colourful big bows in a cinch.
Review: Georgie and Lydia may have been late to the JoJo bow trend but once they were on board, they got on board! Both of them got mini JoJo bows in their Christmas stockings, and they love them. When I saw this JoJo bow maker I knew they would really enjoy the chance to make their own.
Inside the box you get the JoJo Bow maker, six different fabrics for your bows, six JoJo Siwa logos, six bow clips, six hair clips, some decorative sticky gemstones, and an instructions sheet.
Both my girls love anything crafty, so being able to easily make their own pretty and big floppy bows to wear was right up their street. As the person who always ends up buying refills or additional craft materials, I really like the fact they can easily take the bows apart and remake them.
This kit is really easy to use once you get the hang of it; the instructions are easy to follow with pictures of each step, and it’s just a case of putting the right bits in the right places.
You pop a clip in the maker, place either one or two layers of bow fabric on top of that, and then place the bow strips over the fabric. Then you simply squeeze the two plastic bows on the sides of the maker towards the middle until they click, gathering the fabric up, and close up the bow clip. To finish off your bow, you slide a hair clip into the bow clip, and then decorate with the JoJo Bow logo and sticky gems.
The bow maker has two small drawers in the ends which are perfect for storing your unused gems, JoJo logos, and clips safely between uses.
Both the girls were both really pleased with their finished hair bows, and Lydia wore one to school the day after the bow maker arrived – and it survived fine, which considering she regularly comes back from a day in Reception with a wonky ponytail and missing hair clips, is saying something.
Overall I’ve been really happy with this product and I think any young JoJo bow fans would enjoy it. I think being able to disassemble and remake the bows makes it good value for money, and with the six sets of clips included you could even sew some extra fabric into the right shape using the ones that come with it as a template, to make even more bows.
We give the Sew Cool JoJo Siwa Bow Maker 4 stars.
