Review: We were sent a celebration box selection pack of Nākd bars and infused raisins to try out, and we have been working our way through the box over the last few weeks.

Inside the selection box you get two of each of these items: Apple Pie, Banana Bread, Cocoa Orange, Berry Delight, Cashew Cookie, Cocoa Delight, Lime raisins, Cola raisins, Cherry raisins.

Although James and I both love the flavours of the bars, we are unsure of the soft yet slightly gritty texture – they are definitely growing on us though! I think they would be good snacks for long walks or days out, as they are really healthy and nutritious – perfect to give you a boost of energy without the niggling conscience scoffing a mars bar gets you. Also, you don’t have to worry about them melting in your bag!

As for Georgie, she adores both the bars and the raisins! They are currently a very popular snack in the house and I have a feeling we’ll have to buy more in future. One of these bars keeps her going for ages, and I don’t have to worry at all about them containing any hidden nasties – there are no added sugars or syrups to worry about, and the only sugars in them comes from the fruit.

Nākd bars are literally just raw fruits and nuts, all smooshed together into a slightly chewy solid bar. They’re fantastic for people with various allergies too, as they are wheat, dairy and gluten free. Quite a few of the bars count towards one of your five a day, so that’s definitely a bonus for me as I am always keen to make sure Georgie hits the target each day. I’ve tried a few different flavours out (usually before handing the rest of the bar over to my demanding small person), and there is a lot of flavour packed into each bar.

Eating a pack of the infused raisins is a surreal experience, to tell you the truth. They are quite sweet, so are a handy way to satisfy a sweet tooth craving healthily. The flavours that they have been infused with are quite strong – I found the lime ones a bit too tangy, but quite enjoyed the cola ones. Georgie scoffed the lot!

We have a few of these bars & bags left still, but I don’t think they’ll be lasting long. We give the Nākd celebration box 4 out of 5 stars, and would probably pick up a bar or two in the supermarket in future, if we were looking for healthy snacks we could take out with us easily.

  1. Try popping them in the fridge and then nibbling a section on a hot day – even yummier. Raisins work well in cooking – cherry coke crumble anyone?
