I’ve been away from my blog for a while, after a couple of nasty bugs which ended up with a nasty chest infection and the inevitable result of me feeling very sorry for myself! After a week of getting steadily worse I took myself along to the doctors and got a course of antibiotics – I’m just finishing this up and feeling much better, although completely and utterly shattered!
Anyway, now that I’ve explained my previously unexplained disappearance (although to be fair, if you follow me on twitter I’ve been moaning like a pansy over there), let’s get on with the show. I thought I’d get back into the swing of things with one of my semi-regular features, my Wednesday Wishlist item (only a day late!).

Today’s treats that I’ve been lusting after are the Babylit board books by Jennifer Adams, which look so absolutely gorgeous. I really love books and really want to bring Georgie (and other children I have!) up as a reader.
One of my all time favourite books is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and I was completely delighted when I discovered that there is a baby version
* of this classic! My little Georgiana is named partly for Darcy’s sister and so this seems doubly perfect for her.
I have found a couple of sneak peeks inside the book and the illustrations are just gorgeous! I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this book so I can share my favourite story with my baby girl, in such a beautiful format.

I think that this might just make it underneath the Christmas tree this year!
And then if she likes this one, maybe I could get her Romeo & Juilet
*, and then maybe the upcoming Alice in Wonderland
* and Jane Eyre
* – all amazing stories which look utterly gorgeous as baby board books!

Pride & Prejudice and Romeo & Juliet are both also available as enhanced ebooks on the iBooks store – I downloaded the samples to my iPad and they are really gorgeous with some great extra features, though I must admit that I would prefer the board books in this particular case… or maybe even both!
