Georgie had a great day on Friday, with presents in the morning, followed by preschool, then a chilled out afternoon at home playing with her new toys & a visit from Granny in the evening. We ordered “pizza that the man brings” (aka Pizza Hut Delivery) for dinner, she got to play on her new Wii game with Daddy before bath time, and I dried her hair with her brand new hair dryer before tucking her into bed.

Her present pile was typically Georgie; piles of books our little bookworm, dinosaur playmobil, lots of Lego, and some new toy food for her play kitchen – she still plays with her kitchen every day so she loved getting some new cakes to “bake”. The most stereotypically girly things in the pile were a new hairdryer of her own (a big hit, since she started to love having her hair dried a few months ago), and a tutu from Itsy Bits in her favourite colour – blue!

Georgie is a bit obsessed with matching things at the moment – she and Sophie, her best friend, love to have matching things – and so I put Georgie and Lydia’s matching Peppa Pig t-shirts on, which was a popular decision! I don’t dress them the same very often as I’m not mad on it, but they loved it as a one off. I bought the t-shirts separately in two different charity shops which was definitely a stroke of luck. Georgie insisted on wearing her Itsy Bits tutu to preschool and she looked adorable.

We did a lot of lego building in the afternoon, following instructions from her new junior and friends sets, and building houses and random things from her classic sets. All of the dinosaur playmobil was unpacked and roared with.
The Peppa Pig birthday cake was a huge success, Georgie absolutely loved it. I used this chocolate sponge cake recipe from the queen of baking Mary Berry, on the BBC Food website, and the vanilla butter icing from my GBBO recipe book. James enjoyed it so much that he’s requested I make the recipe again some other time for no apparent reason other than it being delicious.

Sounds like the perfect birthday – and the cake looks gorgeous 🙂 Happy belated birthday Georgie! x
