Both my little girls have been poorly the second half of this week, and so I haven’t been able to get much done the last few days – rightly so, my time has been spent looking after my girls instead of working or blogging. Don’t even get me started on the state of my inbox *shudder*.
Georgie’s illness started on Thursday when she woke up tired form coughing & with a slight temperature, and headed into school after some restorative breakfast & calpol, only to crash a few hours later and have to be collected. She got to go to her first end of term achievement assembly where she collected a Silver Attendance Award, but had to come home before her Christmas party in the afternoon; she was really upset.
Friday and Saturday involved high temperatures, coughing, and lots of calpol for Georgie, and Lydia started coming down with it a few days after her big sister. Thankfully Georgie is well on the mend and is out today with her Daddy for a few hours to get her out the house for a bit, having managed to eat plenty of breakfast and bounce around a bit this morning. She is still coughing a bit but her temperature is down to normal levels and her energy has improved.
Lydia is an unhappy little thing though, bless her – she came into our room this morning for a cuddle, burning hot, and after a few hours of cuddles and some calpol she zonked out on our bed as I was getting dressed. Georgie jumped into big sister mode, fetching her Ewans and her favourite blanket, and lending Lydie her special VIP toys for cuddling too – Melody Doll and Colourful Teddy. It was very sweet to watch Georgie lovingly care for her little sister, despite not being entirely recovered herself.
I’ve basically spent the last three days being the ultimate comforter for my poorly girls, whilst not feeling 100% myself – nothing is quite as comforting to them as cuddling up with Mummy. Now, where is that 10 metre long to-do list of mine? With Lydia snuggled on the sofa watching some videos for a bit & Georgie out with James, I might be able to cross one or two things off!

Oh your poor girls. I hope they get well soon! Sending lots of love x
