Every now and again Mama Geek will deviate from its regular programming of mummy matters and delve into the geekier side of life.
Today I am going to talk about the fabulousness that is Apple. I really love Apple products, they really do “just work” and are so elegant and easy to use! With an almost non-existent learning curve, and gorgeous design, Apple stuff is simply marvellous in my eyes!
Between the two of us, James & I are the proud owners of an iMac, a (new!) MacBook Pro, two iPhone 3GSs & my beloved iPad. We used to have a self built machine running Mac OS X (aka a hackintosh) as well, but it sadly went to computer heaven about a month ago. Awww.

My iPad is a big hit with the whole family (well, everyone but the dog – who does at least prefer it to the laptop as I can have her on my lap at the same time as using it!) and Georgie really loves playing different games on it – reviews to come. I love to read and use both my iPhone and iPad for this – they are great for reading in bed especially since James complains when I have the light on! I love using it to play puzzle games and browse the net too – it’s fab for reading blogs (I use the RSS reader app Reeder) and twittering too.

I use my MacBook pro for my web design work, as well as a myriad of personal uses. My lovely husband bought it for me not long before I had Georgie, so I could work in bed as I was having some problems with the pregnancy and was being told I needed to take it easy. It’s brilliantly fast and simply gorgeous to use!
My iPhone, although now rather dated and sadly damaged with some pretty horrific cracks above the screen, is my “take everywhere” device! I feel naked if it isn’t on my person somewhere! It’s over two years old now, but I’m planning to get a new shiny one in the new year – and I’m following the iPhone 5 rumour mill with excitement. My iPhone is fab because it allows me to browse the net and tweet, etc, all whilst feeding Georgie. Before I sit down for a feed I always make sure I have a drink, snack, any relevant remotes and my iPhone.
