Georgie turned one on Tuesday and we had an absolutely great day! We started the day chilling out in the living room & opening the presents and cards that she had from us & family. It turns out that Georgie is really quite adept at breaking into presents and she even seems to know what to do with cards – she can get them out of the envelope on her own and then looks at them like they are very very short books!
In the evening some of our friends popped over, along with Georgie’s granny, and we had a little get together with pizza & nibbles, more present opening, and lots of chatter! And lots of cake, of course…
I spent quite a bit of Monday baking and so we had lots of edible treats that went down rather well – a chocolate birthday cake, vanilla cupcakes & sugar cookie biscuits (from the Hummingbird Bakery cookbook). Georgie sampled all three types of birthday treat and wholeheartedly approved of all of them!
We managed to remember to video some of her big day, as well as some playtime the next day, so instead of doing a photo gallery I have put together a little video of her birthday… enjoy!

Thank you so much to everyone who came to celebrate with us, and also to anyone or sent cards or presents. You made a little girl very happy (and just a little bit spoilt!).
