Ad disclosure: I was invited to take a look at the store & given a goodie bag of products as thank you. As per my PR info page this post reflects my honest opinion.
I hadn’t heard of Smiggle until recently, when the new Bristol store opened and some blogging friends of mine went along to take a look. I was instantly taken with the brand, who are bringing back the fun in the world of pens and pencils. Everything just looked so bright, colourful and cheery. I got on twitter and was delighted to read that they would be opening several stores near us, in Solihull and Birmingham City Centre.

I was actually invited to check out the Solihull store when it opened but the food poisoning episode caused me to have to cancel, so I was grateful for a second chance to come along to a bloggers event when the Birmingham Bullring store opened.
As you can see from these photos they have a great range of colours and some really quirky & fun products. There is something for everyone and lots of fun little games and stocking filler type presents, too. I love all the scented stuff they do; I had to exert a lot of willpower to walk away from the cookie pencils which smell amazing. A lot of the products in the store made me cry out “oh, I used to have one of those when I was at school” … rulers with multiplication tables printed on, maze pens, cats cradle, and so on.
Everything in the store is really great, I could have come home with bags and bags of stuff… oh wait, I did. In addition to the generous goodie bag I got at the event, I bought a couple of presents for James and some stocking fillers for the girls, plus a treat for myself! Because I spent over £15 on the store launch day I got an extra bag of treats too, so I came home with a lot of stuff.
My favourite items from this lot are probably:
- Scented snap bands for the girls’ stockings
- Parachute dude for Georgie’s stocking
- L & G keyrings for the girls new bags they’ll be getting at Christmas
- Rainbow ribbon for Lydia, who does ribbon dancing at her dance class
- Scented gel pens! These make me feel 11 again
- Eraser sers – the tools are super cute and the macarons are great fun
I know that the Smiggle store is going to be one of those shops that is hard to walk past when I’m out shopping. The prices are fairly decent for the market they’re in, so I will definitely be heading there when I want to get a stationery treat for me or the girls.

I love those little lanterns! I need Smiggle in my life! x
