Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD has been out for a few weeks and I’ve been having a great time blasting ghosts with my Strobulb and hunting out secrets with my Dark-Light Device, while trying to recover all of the lost parts of the Dark Moon. You can read my review of the game here.
I decided that I’d like to design and stitch a cross stitch pattern of Luigi using his Dark-Light Device. Of course now that the pattern is perfected and stitched I am sharing it here for other fans of the daft ghost hunter in green to use to create their own masterpieces.
I’ve designed this pattern to be stitched on 16-count aida in a 15 or 16cm hoop, so that his light shines rainbow colours to the edge of the hoop circle.
I think it looks great on black aida, but other spooky shades of cloth would work great too. I’ve been eying up some of the printed aida by Kitty Bloom Studio on Etsy and some of those look perfect, they do all sorts of gothic and smoky fabrics.
Lydia had a great time helping me design this and choose the colours. We used screenshots I took of the game for our inspiration, and raided my stash of DMC floss to pick our colour palette, and I stitched it over a few days and we tweaked it as I worked. I’m really pleased with how it turned out!
