With less than two weeks to go until Mother’s Day, I hope all those Dad’s out there are getting yourselves & your little ones organised to treat that special lady in your lives!
I know that James has at least thought about it, because he has asked me if having two children this year means I need to be given two presents! The resounding answer was yes from my friends on twitter, by the way… But I think I can probably cope with just the one thoughtful present instead… and maybe some chocolate.
Here are my favourite picks for Mother’s Day this year…. *HINT HINT* (can someone make sure James sees this post?!)

I adore the handmade jewellery from Poppy Sparkles! My particular favourite is this Eternity necklace that incorporates the swarovski birthstone crystals which represent your family members in the design. I can envisage the combination of Ruby (July – me!), Blue Zircon (Dec – James), Emerald (May – Georgie) & most likely Amethyst (Feb – Squidge!!) – I think it will look beautiful!
My other favourites from her range include the Family Birthstone Crystal and Freshwater Pearl bracelet, or the Personalised Initial and Birthstone Charm Necklace – perfect for mums with just one child.

Next up on my list is chocolate, of course! This is my blog after all… otherwise known as the blog of a self-confessed chocoholic. My absolute favourite chocolate is the delicious Hotel Chocolat milk chocolate. I’m not really one for super fancy chocolates but in this case I can usually make an exception! Saying that, I still prefer the more simple items from their amazing range of offerings.
From the drool-worthy Mother’s Day selection they have on their site, I think the thing that appeals to me the most are these fantastic vintage buttons – and they come in dark chocolate too. The Jewellery Box is a sweet idea too, as it combines yummy chocolate with a longer-lasting gift that looks beautiful! Or maybe this Mini Chocolate Dipping Adventure for Two… mmmm!
As for me, I have to admit my personal favourites are these three “selector bars” – Rocky Road, Milk & White Fusion & Cookie Crème.

These days there are loads of amazing handmade gift ideas to be found on the internet, especially with the rise of Pinterest! You only need to do a quick search on there to find an extensive array of projects!
Here are a few of my favourite ideas that I’ve been bookmarking from around the web, suitable for toddlers around Georgie’s age to join in with… Cheshire Mum’s hand print cards, this lovely butterfly card from Our Daily Obsessions, and these simple yet effective salt dough keepsakes from The Imagination Tree.
Well, that’s it for this year! If you want any more ideas you can also check out my 2012 Mother’s Day post 🙂
