Review: The girls are both big fans of Fingerlings and have one of the playsets, several monkeys and their beloved Panda, as well as having some of the collectible Minis – suffice it to say, they are definitely fans of the whole brand.
When I was offered some of the new range of DK Fingerlings books I was delighted – the girls both adore reading, and I’ve always been a big fan of DK books. They are always well written, and great quality books.

Monkey Mischief and Unicorn Magic are both lovely little books suitable for early readers. Lydia is just starting to move from phonics books to early chapter books so they are ideal for her reading level right now, with a couple of sentences per page, and plenty of colourful pictures of the different Fingerlings.

Both books are full of facts about the different Fingerlings, such as where they live and what they like to do, and they both have a quiz at the end which the girls really enjoyed. Georgie and Lydia chose a book each and read to one another, and then quizzed each other on the questions at the end. Then they did the same thing to their Granny a day or two later!

The Monkey Mischief book even has a glossary had the back to explain some of the trickier words, which is a nice touch. Unicorn Magic has pages all about each of the unicorns; Gigi, Skye, Stella, Alika, Gemma, and Molly. Lydia has been cooing over the pearly pink Gemma, so you can guess which Fingerling toy is on her birthday list for later this month.

With more than 1000 stickers, Fingerlings Ultimate Sticker Collection is a lovely sticker book packed with information about the Fingerlings and what they get up to. It has a nice mixture of pages with designated spots for most of the stickers, and “make your own scene” type pages, which is great for developing both fine motor skills and creativity. There’s even a puzzle page where you have to work out which sticker matches each silhouette.

The stickers are a good size for little fingers, so not too fiddly, and Georgie and Lydia have been having great fun finding and sticking all the right Fingerlings and other stickers onto the pages. You even get over 8 pages of extra stickers which went down very well with my pair, as they love to make drawings decorated with stickers.

Georgie and Lydia have both really been enjoying these books and particularly enjoyed getting their Fingerlings out to read the books to them.
