With Georgie’s first birthday fast approaching, I will be doing a series of posts to celebrate and look back on my first year of motherhood & Georgie’s first year out in the world, starting with the story of her birth which I have never posted here at Mama Geek, and ending with (hopefully) some lovely photos of the gathering of family & friends we are having on her birthday!
In order to commemorate the day she was born, I decided to go hunting for the front pages of the newspapers that day so I could post them here on my blog. Unsurprisingly, most the news is about the Royal Wedding – Georgie was due on the wedding day and although my labour started on the 29th she didn’t actually make an appearance until 2 days later on the 1st May!
So there you are – 8 papers most of which are blathering on about the Royal Honeymoon (or lack of a proper one) with varying degrees of English skills and levels of taste. I’m now disappointed that we didn’t pop out and buy a Mail on Sunday – we could have got a FREE TEA TOWEL!!!! That’s way better than the free cornetto the Daily Star tried to fob readers off with! 😛
