My first Mother’s Day!

Home Chit Chat My first Mother’s Day!

I was very excited about my very first Mother’s Day & had a lovely day despite an early morning wakeup time and a 4 hour drive back from Wales in the afternoon! We were in Pembrokeshire for my grandparent’s Diamond anniversary celebration on Saturday evening, and I loved being able to see my Mum at my grandparents’ house on Sunday morning before they drove back to Cornwall.

After an incredibly uncomfortable night in the Travelodge (I will be complaining & requesting a refund!) Georgie & James presented me with a card & some presents to unwrap.

I was given a lovely card with my baby grinning on the front, a babybeads breastfeeding necklace, and a membership to the Eddie Stobart Members Club which will allow me to apply for an Eddie Stobart truck to be named “Georgiana Alice” after my little girl! I thought that these were lovely gifts – thoughtful and imaginative at the same time! My husband knows me well 🙂

"Mummy is my favourite grown up"

The babybeads necklace was a big success as you can see from the photo above. Georgie loves to cling onto it and jingle it about while she feeds, and it has definitely reduced the amount of nose/mouth/boob grabbing I have been enduring of late!

As well as lovely presents, Georgie herself did a few things that made my Mother’s Day feel very special.. she called me Mumma for the very first time in the morning (instead of just babbling Mumummumum when she gets upset – she’s called me Mumma a few times since too, very purposely!).

She also had a lovely game of peekaboo with me while we were travelling along the M4 which was absolutely ADORABLE – she has loved playing peekaboo with us for months now, but just in the last week or two she has been lifting up things in front of her face and popping them down again to play it herself. If either James or I oblige by calling “peekaboo” whenever her face is revealed she gives us huge grins and giggles like mad. At the meal on Saturday night she was actually playing peekaboo with her soft toy Spot and the skirt of her dress – so cute!

Peekaboo!

I was also able to fill in my first few Eddie Stobart spots in my Spotters Handbook on the way home – our 4 hour journey got me 4 spots to put in my book!

My first spots!

So, although I ended my day feeling completely shattered, I definitely had a wonderful first Mother’s Day. Both my husband and my little girl made me feel very special & loved, and I also go to see my Mum which was really nice!
