Weaning Adventures

Georgie turned 6 months on the 1st of November, and so we started weaning her towards the end of October. Food is a BIG hit! She seems to view mealtimes as a new type of playtime that happens to involve food, which is adorable. At the moment we are trying to give her two or …

What we’ve been up to lately..

The short answer to the above, is not too much! I haven’t been blogging an awful lot in the past few weeks because I’ve been ill, which has been completely rubbish. I had some sort of stomach bug which made me quite sick and very tired out & lethargic, followed almost immediately by a bad …

Bin Bag Drama!

Things have been a bit dramatic and unpleasant around here in the past few days!

Some time last week a random bloke came ringing the doorbell at our house, while James was at work, and proceeded to give me abuse about bin bags, of all things. I was at home alone with Georgie and so felt really scared at the time. I actually had her in my arms and had to step out onto the pavement with her to stop the dog getting out of the house, so I felt incredibly vulnerable – once he was gone I felt really ill – I think I was in a little bit of shock.

Georgie’s favourite freebie!

Georgie has started to show decided favouritism for different toys and objects now, and her absolute favourite thing is her free HiPP elephant comforter, which we received when we joined the HiPP Organic baby club. This thing goes everywhere with her – in the car seat, the pushchair, her crib & the bouncy chair – and …

What’s in a name?

Everyone has at least a few different names, or labels – I can think of quite a few I’ve had in the past, as well as some new ones I’ve acquired lately. Some of my past names include: Lola, Zwe, Little Smithy (my maiden name is Smith and Smithy was already assigned to my older …

A to Z of Me

I noticed this on mrsslummymummy’s blog & thought I’d have a go myself! I love memes like this, they get you writing about random stuff and I find reading other people’s satisfies my nosey streak beautifully!

ANORAK…Do you have a sad side? I’m a bit addicted to jigsaws, which is a bit of a weird hobby these days. My brother-in-law called me jigsaw yoda once, because I’m a bit freaky with them when I have the picture to hand (pick up a piece, look at piece, look at picture, place piece pretty much exactly where it goes). I have to play mystery jigsaws with no picture provided if I want a decent challenge!

BODY…What physical attribute would you most like to change? Um, probably my weight, although it doesn’t bother me too much. I’m losing weight gradually at the moment which is good for health reasons, if nothing else! I used to be quite ill with headaches & migraines which meant I spent a lot of time in bed exhausted and/or ill.

Mmmm!

CELEBRITY…Which one would you most like to date and why? I have a bit of a thing for James McAvoy. Yum.

Bargains at the ASDA Baby & Toddler event

James & I (and Georgie of course – although she slept through most of the trip) popped to ASDA on the way home on Sunday to do our shopping for the week, and caught the tail end of the Baby & Toddler event that is a regular crowd pleaser at ASDA. As it seemed to …

What happens when the dog sits next to the baby!

Georgie absolutely loves our little Norwich Terrier Homily, and whenever the dog is stupid enough to sit within arms reach, Georgie happily reaches out her hands and grabs handfuls of fur to pull and play with!   Homily, to be fair, is really very well behaved and puts up with it splendidly! I do get a …
