Our Christmas Eve Surprise Box!

This year I thought the girls deserved an extra treat for Christmas, especially since we haven’t really splashed out excessively on presents for either their stockings or under the tree. So, I decided that I would put together all the little bits and pieces we have collected for Christmas and wrap them up so they have a box of goodies to open on Christmas Eve…

I’m really looking forward to watching them open up the packages! A lot of these things we would have bought anyway as holiday nibbles or treats, and quite a few of them are freebies that I have been putting aside for them, so it hasn’t cost us much extra.

All of the exciting little parcels are wrapped in a lovely wrapping paper (stolen from my Mum’s stash) covered in “Honey Pooh” and his friends; this is thrilling stuff to a two year old!

This is what our little girls will be unwrapping on Christmas Eve…

Matching Christmas PJs for them to wear over Christmas Eve night, as well as for when opening stockings and eating breakfast on Christmas morning. These ones are walk in sleepers from Mothercare, and incredibly cute!

Treats to eat & drink over the holiday: Cadbury Festive Friends biscuits, Organix Goodies Mini Gingerbread Men, a choc dip, chocolate biscotti, some chocolate treats, two packs of milkshake straws & a pack of My5 Fruit Shoot.

New books: Say Hello to the Snowy Animals!*, Say Hello to the Baby Animals!*, Pirates Sticker Book*, Fireman Sam: The Runaway Santa* and Mr. Men The Christmas Tree*. The two “Say hello to..” books were bought with free amazon vouchers from EE, and the two little Christmas books were from our latest Nonabox. We picked up the sticker book in the supermarket as these Usborne ones are really fantastic.

Dora will be getting a special Christmas Outfit to wear as the finale to Georgie’s advent calendar, which has been a huge success! I plan to let Georgie have some chill out time in the afternoon while Lydia naps, when we can curl up and watch The Polar Express* dvd.

Bath time will be accompanied with new toothbrushes (both freebies I’ve been saving!) and a couple of build your own bath planes which I just couldn’t resist. Lydia’s first toothbrush is just in time too, she’s cut her first two teeth this week and there are two more coming in to join them already.

This really didn’t cost us a lot extra as there are so many things here which are things we’d have bought anyway, or things we have collected up for bargain prices or (even better) free! Who knows, this may even become a yearly tradition.
