I cannot believe I just wrote that post title. It is after midnight now, as I type this, so it is officially Georgie’s third birthday. It feels like she was a teeny tiny baby with newborn rash one minute, and a cheeky little girl the next.
Today is the day Georgiana stops being classed as a toddler, and is a “pre-schooler” instead. It is an apt description as she is so ready to learn; our little girl just soaks up information and loves to be taught new things. She is doing so well with her numbers, letters, and so on, and I am just incredibly proud of her.
I am constantly amazed that we have managed to be her parents for three years without screwing it up. People say that she is a credit to me, when they meet her, and it just floors me. Whenever we meet new people she is almost always polite and friendly, and I swell up with pride at the way she deals with other people… on the whole, at least!
Our Georgie Girl is an imaginative and intelligent little girl. Right now she adores taking photos, singing nursery rhymes (and watching them on the iPad), playing role-play type games, and much to my delight, she loves to play with and look after her little sister. Georgie is a generous little soul and will almost always share her treats with her sister – and occasionally the dog, too!
She is cheeky, too, and will often say or do things that she knows will get a good laugh. She finds so many things delightful and fascinating; it is a privilege to be her Mummy and watch her enjoy things, explore everything around her, and soak up new ideas and experiences.
We aren’t doing a lot for her birthday today. I’m actually glad we didn’t make any big plans as Lydia, Georgie and I are all still quite under the weather after being struck down with a very vicious bug over a week ago. We will be having a quiet day playing with her new toys and baking the all important birthday cake. Georgie has informed me that she wants a pink chocolate cake, so we will have to see how that turns out later.
