Last weekend we popped into town for a morning, checking out the Grand Opening event at our new LEGO store, picking up a few last minute Christmas bits from our ridiculously large Primark- and of course popping in to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and sea life to check out their Christmas events!

We started with LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, where the girls had a great time hunting for Santa’s reindeer in Miniland. They had been given Christmas Bricktacular leaflets to track their progress, where they also recorded their score from the Knight Quest ride.

All of us enjoyed seeing Miniland looking very festive, complete with the german Christmas market and Santa’s sleigh on the roof of the Bullring. The model of Warwick Castle even had the new ice rink that they have installed in the grounds for Christmas at the castle.

Once inside the main area of the centre, we had a nice lunch at the cafe, before the girls went to meet LEGO Santa in his Grotto. Santa was giving out hugs and high fives, and his helper was giving out Cadbury Freddo Treasures. Of course, Georgie & Lydia also had lots of firm racing around the soft play and building some weird and wonderful creations.

The Centre is decorated for Christmas with fab LEGO ornaments on their tree and a brilliant stack of presents in the master model builder’s window.

Once they had built to their hearts content, we left the centre – handing in their completed leaflets to the staff in the shop who rewarded them with festive pop badges – and popped over the canal to the Sea Life Centre to visit the penguins & all their fish friends.

Sea Life has been decorated for Christmas with copious amounts of fairy lights-and if you keep your eyes peeled you might spot a special LEGO Christmas tree in one of the tanks!

The seals have moved out, back to their coastal sanctuaries, and the mammal rescue centre is currently being prepared for the next occupants – sea otters! We will definitely be headed back to visit them when they move in.

Over the Christmas period, the cinema always switches to playing a short 4D experience version of The Polar Express which is great fun to watch, so we joined the queue for that & were soon immersed in the film, smelling the Christmas tree scent and getting sprayed with water as the train skidded across the ice. We did, however, skip the queue to see the free Santa, as he was just going on his break and we would have had to wait an hour.
Christmas is nearly here and our outing definitely put us in the Christmas spirit! I hope all our readers are feeling festive too!
