Tomy Stack, Pour, Post n Play

Review: I do love a good multifunctional toy, and this Winnie-the-Pooh branded toy is a prime example. Instantly recognisable as Winnie-the-Pooh’s honey pot, this toy is a shape sorter, a stacking toy, a pouring toy – all in one.

There are three shapes that slot in the lid of the pot; a purple square, orange triangle & red circle. The lid comes off to reveal three more pots hidden inside – all of which have different Winnie-the-Pooh characters printed on, and different pattern/shape holes in the bottom to allow water to pour out in different ways. The bottom half of the honey pot unscrews too, making a fourth similarly shaped pot for stacking.

You can do a lot with this toy – both Georgie and Lydia have enjoyed playing with it. Lydia is right at the bottom of the age range that I would say it is suitable for, so she has mostly been exploring the different shapes and waving them about, banging bits together to make lovely noises, and rattling the pot around.

Georgie has enjoyed: drumming using two of the pots, pouring with them in the bath, sorting colours and shapes, naming the characters, posting the shapes into the pot, stacking up the pots, and pushing her stacks over again! We also spent a while hiding the different shapes under pots, and then trying to remember which shape was hidden where.

This toy seems to be well made with good quality plastic. The pieces fit well together and I love the way everything fits into the honey pot for easy peasy storage. As it doubles up as a fun bath toy, it’s great that the characters are printed straight onto the plastic rather than using stickers – they are waterproof!

Georgie enjoyed the different ways the water poured through the pots, and had fun using the pots as hats too! I haven’t met a child who doesn’t like Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends, and this honey pot design is really sweet, and makes a nice change to the usual cuboid shape sorters.

At £14.99 this would make a good Christmas gift for any small child – I would definitely consider buying this for some of the babies & young toddlers I know! The many different ways you can play with this toy make it great value.

5 stars for a fun, colourful, multifunctional toy – a must for any young Winnie-the-Pooh fans!
