For our final Play Patrol mission, we were given a budget, and permission to choose whatever we wished from the Bigjigs range to review. Lydia enjoys being creative, and loves flowers. Toys that involve building, sorting, and stacking are among her favourites, so I thought that this Build-a-Bouquet toy would be ideal for her.… Continue Reading “Review: Green Toys Build-a-Bouquet, from Bigjigs Toys (GTFLWA1012)”

As Bigjigs #PlayPatrol agents for two years running, and keen fans of the brand, we obviously have built up quite a collection of Bigjigs toys. Christmas saw a fresh influx of Bigjigs toys and so I thought I would share what the girls have been loving lately from our favourite toy brand. Pastel Check Hobby Horse Thanks to the blog we reviewed several “Santa experiences” before Christmas,… Continue Reading “Our recent Bigjigs favourites!”
Georgie was sent this bead box for her latest Play Patrol mission, and although we are shamefully late posting this review thanks to several illnesses in the family, we have had a lot of fun with this box in the meantime.
The box itself is a wooden tray with a sliding plastic lid, which Georgie can slide in and out herself. Inside the box is a plastic sorting tray full of wooden beads in a riot of colours, including 8 wooden butterflies. You get 5 coloured laces to make your creations with, and we have been making things, then taking them apart to make them differently instead.… Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Butterfly Bead Box #BJ708”
Georgie adores role play & imagination games and this breakfast tray is one we have been eyeing up for a while, so we were delighted to find it when we unpacked our latest Play Patrol delivery! With her toy kitchen in daily use James, Lydia & I get made an endless supply of cups of tea, lunches & dinners – and now she can make us breakfast too.… Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Breakfast Tray (#BJ440)”
Lydia was excited as soon as she saw these fridge magnets. She loves animals and finds going to zoos etc fascinating so being able to create animal scenes on the fridge and so on is right up her street.
We are keeping the magnets in the kitchen, stashed away in their handy reusable box in the bottom of the kids stool. Lydia can get them out herself, carrying the box using the handle and sliding the lid open to get the magnets.… Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Wooden Jungle Magnets (#BJ729)”
For Georgie’s Play Patrol mission, she was sent two pairs of percussion instruments; two snazzy handbells and a pair of animal maracas. We had a challenge to involve someone else in our play so, along with the train puzzle Lydia received, we took them to a blogger get together at a park in town so all the kids could play together.… Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Animal Maracas (#BJ143) and Snazzy Handbells (#BJ193)”
We were sent this Chunky Train Puzzle for Lydia (aka Agent SuperDucky) to try out for our latest Play Patrol mission. Our top secret brief was to get someone else involved in the playtime, so we decided to take ours along to a local blogger meet up – a picnic in the park with lots of kids!… Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Chunky Train Puzzle (#BB063)”
It’s time for Lydia’s first official Play Patrol mission, how exciting! Her first toy is a Bigjigs Doll of her very own. Georgie’s favourite toy is a Bigjigs Doll we reviewed yonks ago called Melody, and so it’s really lovely that Lydia has one of her own now – and a relief for Georgie as she no longer has to jealously guard Melody from her little sister!
Emma arrived wrapped in a protective plastic bag with a label attached to the back of her dress. … Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Emma 38cm Doll (#BJD022)”
Georgie has a growing collection of Bigjigs Rail toys and this Overhead Gantry Crane is the perfect accompaniment to the goods train & container shipping set that her Uncle Mike bought her.
Our first official mission of this year’s new #PlayPatrol scheme, and both girls are now agents, and they have caps as well as their t-shirts! They had to be tried on immediately, of course.… Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Overhead Gantry Crane (#BJR112)”
We are delighted to be in the running to be selected as Play Patrol agents for the second year of the scheme… there are 21 hopefuls and we have all been sent a mission to complete; reviewing these fab Wooden Safari Animal Building Blocks. The slight snag with this challenge is we reviewed them back in August, complete with a stop-motion animation video and 5 star rating.… Continue Reading “Review: Bigjigs Toys Wooden Safari Animal Building Blocks (8 months on)”
A little while ago I announced a fab competition where one of my readers could design a Bigjigs Toys doll, and today I am delighted to be announcing the winning doll design! The top five doll designs were chosen by Bigjigs and sent over to us. I printed them out and let Georgie choose the winner – as her last “official act” as a Play… Continue Reading “Bigjigs Doll Competition – the winners!”
