Charlie & Lola – My Sunday Photo

We visited Alton Towers yesterday for a fantastic CBeebies Magazine event and had a brilliant day, despite the weather being a bit miserable for large parts of the day. There were moments of sunshine though, and while we were there I couldn’t resist getting Georgie and James to join Charlie & Lola of CBeebies fame for a quick picture!

My Sunday Photo – Tired out tots!

On Thursday I took the girls to London for a fantastic Amazon Instant Video event. I’ll be posting more about this in the next week, but for now I wanted to share this photo from the train journey home.

TiredOutTots

Georgie rarely sleeps in the daytime and hasn’t allowed me to put her in the wrap for months. She was happy to be snuggled up against my back and slept there for well over an hour – all really unusual! In this photograph Lydia has only just woken up from a quick nap in the pushchair and isn’t too happy about it. I couldn’t convince her to go back to sleep but we had lots of cuddles on our way home.

My Sunday Photo – The Italian Gardens

I went to London earlier this week, child-free, for a product launch and enjoyed spending some time in Hyde Park before the event began. The Italian Gardens are beautiful and it was such a treat to be able to sit and admire them for a quiet spell. So very pretty!

My Sunday Photo – Lydia Sleeping

I just love this photo of Lydia fast asleep after a busy morning at playgroup earlier in the week. She usually naps for around two and a half hours in the mornings so Tuesday mornings mean she has to stay awake a lot longer than normal, and she ended up crashing out on the way home.

She was very happy to wake up as soon as she realised it was lunchtime though!

My Sunday Photo – Cuddles

I love this photo of my two girls. It isn’t really the best lighting as Georgie is shadowing Lydia’s face a bit, and it somehow looks slightly awkward, but it’s a capture of a magical little moment between my girls.

Lydia was playing with our new Bigjigs safari blocks, and when she stood up Georgie came over to give her a big hug. Just because. You can probably tell that “her Lydie” loves big sister hugs!

My Sunday Photo – Happy Easter!

I just couldn’t resist doing this when I saw these sweet bunny ears in Paperchase on Monday.

It is going to be chocolate overload for our girls today, and we are off to have some fun at a National Trust Easter Egg Hunt today! Hope everyone has a lovely Easter & is enjoying the holiday xx

My Sunday Photo – Lydia

Last night we were in the girls bedroom sorting them out for bedtime, reading stories and generally settling them down for the night. We must remember to pick up some batteries today, Lydia was unimpressed that Ewan has started to sound a bit ill!

James was taking a few pics of me reading to Georgie, for an upcoming review, and Lydia wanted to get in on the action. This photo is the result of that, and it seems to sums up her personality perfectly. There are also a lot of quite amusing not-so-good ones that will probablly be cropping up in #theouttakes next weekend!

My Sunday Photo – Train tracks!

We finally had enough clear floor space to get out the wooden railway this week, and Georgie and I built this marvellously wriggly track! It was hilarious because Lydia was awake and so she kept trying to interfere. Every time Lydia tugged at a bit of track Georgie would yell “No Lydie, no d’stroying!”

Railway

I was pretty impressed by this track, we managed to squeeze in three rail bridges & one road bridge, a tunnel, a level crossing, a rail crossing, a turntable, and an awful lot of corner pieces too. Bonus points if you spotted the fat controller having a little lie down!

Georgie proceeded to then drive a bus all around the road & rail tracks singing “the wheels on the bus” which is one of her favourite songs right now. It was pretty adorable!

My Sunday Photo – Eyes

I love this photo of Georgie, and it shows how much difference about 30 seconds can make. When you compare it to the photo I chose for this weeks #theouttakes linky, it really highlights how important capturing the right moment is, especially when photographing children who so often seem to be in motion with quickly changing facial expressions as well as the larger movements.
