Not raspberries, as such, but my new Raspberry Red Kenwood K-Mix! I get to have my birthday (and probably Christmas too!) present early so that I can use it over the next few months – my birthday isn’t until late July but James didn’t want to miss out on a bargain price he found 😀

It’s hard not to have pre-conceived notions about microwave meals when you are used to the typically mediocre standards of the meals usually found on the supermarket shelves. Even though the pictures of these meals looked inviting, I was still a little surprised to discover that they are actually really delicious.
popchips claim that these “chips” (aka crisps) taste better than baked crisps (aka cardboard) whilst still being a healthier option than fried crisps, and I have to say.. I agree. They are a little thicker than regular crisps and remind me of squished rice crispies, only made of potatoes instead of rice!

Today was the final day of my Breastfeeding Buddy training course, and I had to have my practical assessment to check that I know my stuff before I got my certificate and the all important pink t-shirt – my new buddy “uniform”!
Rather embarrassingly, we also had our photograph taken as a group for a press release! Hopefully we will be featured in the local news soon to promote the service we have been trained to provide. I will try to remember to post it here if we’re on any of the local news sites :-).
In order to celebrate our last day (and to fine tune my cupcake & buttercream recipes for Georgie’s birthday) I whipped up a batch of cupcakes to share with the rest of the trainees and the staff at the children’s centre. After asking for opinions on the matter via twitter, I decided to decorate the cakes as boobs to match the theme of the training course! Read on for my recipes & photos of the finished result…
I made one of these banoffee pies a few weeks ago when some of my family came to visit, and it went down very well. Banoffee pie is one of my all time favourite puddings! This is something you can knock up while dinner is in the oven, as it’s very easy – I cheat and buy ready made caramel because I just can’t be bothered trying to make caramel that will probably taste worse than the tinned stuff!
