My baby girl turns two today. After a somewhat troublesome entrance into the world, she has spent the last two years delighting us, frustrating us, amusing us, and helping to fill our lives with joy.

There is something about Lydia that makes people smile or laugh when they see her, and although we have naughty and bratty times, she is generally a very happy and easy going child. She and Georgie love each other very much (most of the time) and Lydia is incredibly affectionate.
Today we are having a chilled out birthday; presents in the morning, then playtime with me while Georgie was at preschool, followed by a special birthday lunch with all her favourite foods (cheese!), then more playing in the afternoon. Various people will be popping in to say hi and play with the birthday girl.

I baked Lydia’s birthday cake yesterday; it is a chocolate sponge cake with milk chocolate chunks, white chocolate chunks, chocolate buttercream and then icing on top of that. I’m quite pleased with my attempt at Minnie Mouse! Lydia hasn’t seen it yet, I am looking forward to her reaction later. What do you think?

At two years old, Lydia…
…likes: chocolate cake, dinosaurs, Minnie Mouse, Peppa Pig, drawing, lettuce, apples, Ewan the dream sheep, soft toys cuddles, playing cars, playing iPad games, building with duplo, napping in her big sister’s bed, and Sarah & Duck.
…hates: not being allowed to go to school with Georgie, anyone else but her hanging up a FaceTime call, keeping her socks on indoors.

How is she two?! And that means T is two in not very long. Noooooo!!!! Too fast!!!! Your cake looks amazing! Happy Birthday Lydia! x
