Macro Flowers – My Sunday Photo

May 24, 2015

I ordered some macro extension tubes for my Samsung NX 3000 camera (you can see a link at the end of the post to what I got) this week, and as soon as they arrived I was out in the garden playing around. We are lucky enough to have moved into a house with a lovely garden that, although small, flowers from Spring to Autumn, so I am looking forward to practising my photography all through the Summer with these new tubes to help with the extreme close ups!

All these photos are SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera, with no editing or cropping).

Here are a few more of my favourite shots:

I was stalking this bee with my lens, poor mite

I always think these flowers look like they are painted with watercolours

Our shed door - it probably needs replacing, to be honest! — Our shed door – it probably needs replacing, to be honest!

Here are the tubes I got, which will fit all NX mount cameras, and have electrical points to carry through the signals. I’m very pleased with them!

Nature Photography at Bluestone, Wales

March 31, 2015

Not long before we went away to Bluestone, I upgraded my camera body to a Samsung NX3000, a small improvement on my previous NX1000 – I only really upgraded as my kit lens got damaged (thanks, Homily dog). As I wanted a replacement with OIS it ended up making the most sense to actually buy a new camera with the lens I wanted, and sell off the damaged lens, the old camera body, and the bundled software to make the difference.

I am loving my new camera, and had a lot of fun playing with it, and the lovely lens James bought me for Christmas, while we were staying at Bluestone. There is so much beauty there to photograph and I was completely snap happy while we were there. Here are my favourite shots…
