Our Welsh camping trip

Earlier this month we headed to Wales for 5 nights, to go camping with the kids. We stayed at Erwbarfe Farm near Devil’s Bridge, and enjoyed some typically mixed weather complete with thunderstorms and blazing sunshine! The girls really enjoyed the trip, and the caravan/camping park was really nice – set in beautiful countryside with amazing views, and equipped with a children’s play area and… Continue Reading “Our Welsh camping trip”

Our Bluestone Break – the Video

I’ve already blogged about our trip to Bluestone in Wales absolutely loads, I know – I promise this is the last post! We really loved our holiday there, and especially enjoyed the chance to have a few days in such a fun and beautiful setting with my parents there – we don’t get to see them that often, so it was lovely for us all to get together on holiday.

We did so much during our stay that the video is a huge 25 minutes long, but I have to admit I love this video, so much. It will remind me of the fantastic memories we made at Bluestone, for years to come.… Continue Reading “Our Bluestone Break – the Video”

Nature Photography at Bluestone, Wales

Not long before we went away to Bluestone, I upgraded my camera body to a Samsung NX3000, a small improvement on my previous NX1000 – I only really upgraded as my kit lens got damaged (thanks, Homily dog). As I wanted a replacement with OIS it ended up making the most sense to actually buy a new camera with the lens I wanted, and sell… Continue Reading “Nature Photography at Bluestone, Wales”

Our Bluestone Break – Things to Do

In addition to the huge range of activities you can book at Bluestone, there is loads to do on site for free – even if it’s raining.

In fine weather you can tackle one of the two nature trails (or if you’re like my Dad, do two in one morning before anyone else even gets up), head to the Treetops adventure playground, enjoy the beautiful walks around the resort, or head to the village. In wet weather, you can take refuge at the Blue Lagoon swimming complex, or head to the Adventure Centre which has a whole host of indoor fun, including the Circus Room. We managed to pack so much into our five days at Bluestone!… Continue Reading “Our Bluestone Break – Things to Do”

Our Bluestone Break – Activities

Before you get to Bluestone, you get access to an excellent online booking system which details what activities are available on different dates during your stay, and allows you to pre-book places and pay online beforehand. You can also book onto these activities while on site, but you do run the risk of some activities filling up if you leave it too late. The Bluestone TV in your lodge is also great to find out what is going on, activities-wise.

We pre-booked three things before getting to Bluestone; a Space Explorer creche session for the girls, a Secret Village “beast hunt” adventure, and the Woody Wild Dinner Show at the Wild Wood Cafe. … Continue Reading “Our Bluestone Break – Activities”

Our Bluestone Break – First Impressions

We are over halfway through our break at Bluestone in Pembrokeshire, and we are all absolutely loving it. The girls really adore it here, and James and I are pretty pleased with it too!

As my parents have joined us mid-week, we have been put in a four bedroom Grassholm lodge, which sleeps up to eight people. The lodge has a large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, four generous sized bedrooms (one double and three twin rooms), two bathrooms, and an en-suite shower room for the double room. It feels very comfortable, spacious, and is generally a very relaxing place to be.… Continue Reading “Our Bluestone Break – First Impressions”
