So far this winter I have shared with you the contents of Georgie’s stocking, and of Lydia’s too. In this post, I am going to let you know what will be under the tree for our two girls this Christmas, from their Mummy & Daddy!
I’ve already mentioned that we are on a bit of a strict budget at the moment, so I have had to really think hard about what we should buy them this year with what money we have to spend. I managed to fill both their stockings for around £70, and I didn’t have much more than that left to buy “tree presents” too.
Here is what our girls will be unwrapping after Christmas dinner next month…
For Georgie:

Lydia will be around 10 months at Christmas, so she will be too young to understand most of it. Along with the bits & pieces in her stocking, these gifts will make her a very happy girl. Truth be told, she will probably sleep all the way through the afternoon gift opening session!
She loves musical toys so a chime ball is perfect for her to waggle about, and I think she will really enjoy the interactive Vtech cub. I have already programmed it before wrapping, so that it says her name and knows her birthday. Apart from proper gadgets like iPods it is the first toy I have seen with its own USB lead.
As for Georgie, this is the first Christmas that she is old enough to begin to enjoy properly. She has been watching all the Peppa Pig Christmas episodes and has been told about our plan to go & visit Santa on his steam train once we are down in Cornwall. She is starting to get excited!
Her favourite toy is her Bigjigs Toys Melody doll, so this year we are getting her a decent toy pushchair as her main gift. We’ve been managing with a cheap & cheerful one we picked up in Asda ages ago, but it is falling to bits and the design frustrates Georgie, with the seat unhooking itself constantly. I love the look of this Mamas & Papas mini pushchair, and I think Georgie will adore it. She loves to push anything and everything around in the one we have now, despite its failings.
We are going to give her the Gruffalo cutlery before Christmas Dinner, so that she can use them for the first time at the big meal of the day. She really likes the Gruffalo so I think these will be a hit – her first “big girl” all-metal cutlery. The Tinyme bag is an extra thanks to the event I went to, and again I think it will go down very well with Georgie, as she really enjoys filling up bags or baskets with random selections of items and then carting them around the house. We will be able to use this when we go out and about, as well.
I was really pleased to find the four Thomas puzzles on Very for £10. At £2.50 a puzzle I thought it was a bargain! The puzzles are all made from real wood, and there are two peg puzzles & two jigsaw puzzles. The difficulty increases from the 9 piece peg puzzle through to the 24 piece jigsaw. Georgie is a big Thomas fan so these are sure to go down well, and Lydia will enjoy them too as she gets older.
So there you have it… I have spent a total around £150 on the girls for Christmas this year. It may not be a lavish spend or a huge amount of gifts, but I know that they will enjoy and get good value from every single one of them. I’ve managed to find some great bargains and I know that Georgie in particular will be really pleased when she opens some of her parcels.
I have strong suspicions that Lydia’s favourite thing is going to be the wrapping paper. Good luck with all your Christmas shopping!

Isn’t it adorable? When we stayed at Mum & Dad’s in the summer she loved using their “big girl” all-metal cutlery with animals on the handles so I’m hoping she will love this.
