Earlier this month we headed over to Thomas Land at Drayton Manor for the premiere event of the new Thomas & Friends special, Digs & Discoveries, taking one of the girl’s friends along with us for a fun day out.

On Saturday Lydia turned three – and she got to spend the day at Thomas Land at Drayton Manor, what a fab birthday treat! We were invited to come along and review the popular family attraction, that’s perfect for Thomas & Friends fans for all ages.
Review: Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Daring Dragon Drop
Georgie and Lydia are both Thomas fans, and love to add new playsets to their Take n Play collection. This new Dragon Drop set has been released to celebrate Thomas’s 70th year, and it’s a really fun one. The girls have been enjoying playing with it since it’s arrival, and love all the little details.
Review: Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure (DVD)
Thomas the tank engine, his friends, the island of Sodor, pirates, and lost treasure – what better combination could there be!? This new Thomas film has all of these in abundance, and has been very well received by our two small Thomas fans.
Review: Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Rattling Railsss (CDM88)
It is Thomas & Friends’ 70th birthday this year! To celebrate, we have been sent this Rattling Railsss Take-n-Play set to review. Georgie and Lydia were excited as soon as it arrived – they are both huge Thomas friends, and we have lots of the books and toys. Reverend W. Awdry was actually living about a mile from where we live at the moment, when he published the first Thomas book, back in 1945!
Review: Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Roaring Dino Run (BCX23)
Fisher-Price offered us this toy to review, knowing that Georgie is a big Thomas fan, and enjoyed the new Tale of the Brave film. Part of the huge Take-n-Play range, the Roaring Dino Run features the Sodor quarry and museum, complete with a large dinosaur skeleton.
Review: Thomas & Friends: Tale of the Brave (DVD) (at Drayton Manor Park)
Tale of the Brave is the latest Thomas & Friends film, and we were lucky enough to be invited to go along to Drayton Manor, home of Thomas Land, to watch the new film in the cinema there. I took Lydia and Georgie along on the train for the day, to check out the new film and have some fun on the rides afterwards!
The film is great fun, a tale of ghosts, bravery and friendship. Several new characters are introduced and they have some scary and exciting adventures. There are some fun songs, some ever so slightly scary bits, and lessons about what courage really is, and how friends help each other.
Review: Thomas & Friends Amazing ABC
Georgie loves trains, and really enjoys anything Thomas the Tank Engine, so when we were sent this book to review she was incredibly excited! It’s a lovely big ABC book, with loads of flaps and interesting things to explore.
It is an ABC book, so the text goes “A is for Annie, B is for Bertie, C is for Call,” and so on. The variety of things chosen for each letter are great; not every letter is a train engine! Of course, the favourites are in there, and T is for Thomas! This book is an attractive square hardback book measuring around 25 x 25cm.
Review: Thomas & Friends: Merry Christmas, Thomas! DVD
Georgie is a huge Thomas fan so I was sure that this DVD would be a great success. I have to say, I wasn’t wrong!
Merry Christmas, Thomas! is a collection of six festive themed Thomas & Friends episodes which are all really lovely & enjoyable. Georgie enjoyed each of the stories, and to be completely honest James and I did too! Even Lydia crawled over to the TV to watch the trains choo-choo-ing around Sodor.
A Day out at Thomas Land
About a month ago, I got a very exciting email that had me messaging James immediately to demand he book a day off work… an invitation to visit Thomas Land at Drayton Manor to view a VIP screening of the new Thomas & Friends King of the Railway film!
I’ve already blogged what I thought about the (rather fab) film, now here’s what we got up to at the theme park. We were really lucky with the weather and I think we probably had the last really good day of the summer.
