Cosplay at MCM Comic Con

Our day at MCM Comic Con!

At the weekend we headed to the NEC for MCM Comic Con. We didn’t tell the kids where we were going until the day before and they were ridiculously excited, especially after I told Lydia that she might just see Supergirl! We were given press passes for the purpose of this post. We were especially interested to see just how family friendly the con was –… Continue Reading “Our day at MCM Comic Con!”

NVR steam train

A family day out at Nene Valley Railway (NVR)

A week or so ago, we headed over to Wansford near Peterborough to meet up with James’s Dad for a family trip on the Nene Valley Railway. The girls love steam trains, as does their Grandfather, and the NVR is a sort of middle point between our homes, which was great for meeting up for the day. The weather was kind to us for most… Continue Reading “A family day out at Nene Valley Railway (NVR)”

Ocean tunnel - Sea Life Birmingham

Sea Life Birmingham is 20!

As Sea Life Ambassadors, we were invited along to one of their 20th Anniversary special events to help celebrate the centre’s birthday. We got to take one of their new behind the scenes tours, eat cake (Georgie was a fan of this idea at 9am!), and enjoy the latest improvements to the centre. The girls even got goody bags with a few keepsakes and a… Continue Reading “Sea Life Birmingham is 20!”

Bournville Scarecrow Festival

At the weekend we headed to Bournville to join a scarecrow hunt! It was time for the annual Bournville Scarecrow Festival, and the girls were really excited to find all of the scarecrows. The theme of the Festival was “favourite children’s stories” and we easily recognised almost all of the wonderful scarecrows. The scarecrows are all created by locals, and dotted around a short walk in the… Continue Reading “Bournville Scarecrow Festival”

Geronimo Festival 2015 (Video)

On Sunday we headed up to Tatton Park for Geronimo Festival, which was buckets of fun! I’ll be posting a no doubt photo-heavy post in a few days here on the blog, but for now you can get a peek of the action with this video on my YouTube channel. We had an amazing day and there was so much to do, and all included in… Continue Reading “Geronimo Festival 2015 (Video)”

Enchanted Christmas Kingdom at Hatton Adventure World

Disclosure: We were provided with free tickets in order to experience & blog about Hatton’s Enchanted Christmas Kingdom event. This post reflects my honest opinion on our day. We were invited back to Hatton Adventure World so that we could check out the Enchanted Christmas Kingdom event, and we went along on Sunday to take a look. It was a really cold day with hail showers… Continue Reading “Enchanted Christmas Kingdom at Hatton Adventure World”

Fun at Play at Brewers Fayre

Yesterday we spent the morning at a local Brewers Fayre “Pub Restaurant” to celebrate the opening of the chain’s first “Play at Brewers Fayre” facility. The new soft play area at The Guild pub at Bromsgrove is the next step in their partnership with Beano, whose characters already adorn the kids menu.… Continue Reading “Fun at Play at Brewers Fayre”

Pumpkin Week at Hatton Adventure World

We visited Hatton Adventure World back at Easter and really enjoyed it. When we were invited to go and check out Pumpkin Week, we happily made plans to go along on the first weekend of half term. Unfortunately we’ve all been taking it in turns to be ill since then and blogging has been put on the back burner, so this post is horribly late. … Continue Reading “Pumpkin Week at Hatton Adventure World”

A day at Warwick Castle with Mike the Knight

We were invited to Warwick Castle earlier this month to join in with the celebrations for the new Mike the Knight film, Journey to Dragon Mountain. To celebrate the DVD release, which I reviewed on my blog this morning, Mike the Knight and his sister Evie are visiting the Castle to get young children practising “The Chilvarous Code”.  In keeping with the storyline of the film,… Continue Reading “A day at Warwick Castle with Mike the Knight”

A day out at Dartmoor Zoo

Last Saturday was a fairly sunny day and James was down here visiting, so we decided to go to Dartmoor Zoo for the day. My Dad got tickets back in January with the idea of taking me & the girls in mind, but the weather has been so awful we haven’t had the opportunity to drive over there and use it before now. We drove… Continue Reading “A day out at Dartmoor Zoo”
