As I have previously mentioned, my mother-in-law breeds Norwich Terriers and shows them at various dog shows including the rather famous Crufts. Since James & I got together, we have been attending Crufts for one day a year and doing a stint on the Discover Dogs stand, which is somewhere people come to look at different types of dogs, and find out more information about the various breeds. Last year we were excused from our yearly task as I was nearly 8 months pregnant, but we were back on the job this year, complete with our 10 month old monster!
Rather excitingly a Norwich Terrier got Best in Group for the Terrier Group, and it was bred by one of Ruth’s friends – this is great news for the breed, which is a vulnerable one & needs more recognition. Unfortunately little Paris didn’t get Best in Show, but he would have won the “people’s choice” if there was one, if the general raving over on twitter is anything to go by!

I was very excited about my very first Mother’s Day & had a lovely day despite an early morning wakeup time and a 4 hour drive back from Wales in the afternoon! We were in Pembrokeshire for my grandparent’s Diamond anniversary celebration on Saturday evening, and I loved being able to see my Mum at my grandparents’ house on Sunday morning before they drove back to Cornwall.
After an incredibly uncomfortable night in the Travelodge (I will be complaining & requesting a refund!) Georgie & James presented me with a card & some presents to unwrap.

1. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
Other than amassing a rather large collection of books and mystery jigsaws, the only things I collect are fridge magnets and foreign coins. I don’t go out of my way to collect either of these things though – both collections are added to when we go places.
When James and I got together, we both had a little pot of foreign coins – change left over from holidays and field trips, as well as a few each that were given to us as children by various people. These separate collections were mixed together and, since our honeymoon, have been kept in a little ceramic bowl that I painted while we were in Mexico.
Our fridge magnet collection was started when we got together – we started picking up magnets as cheap souvenirs when we visited places & I love that I can now look at our fridge and there are mementos of fantastic holidays, our wedding, honeymoon & even fun day trips. The latest addition was put on the fridge this morning – a blue paw print magnet to celebrate Georgie’s first Crufts!
